Fond Du Lac Flood

    • Location: Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin
    • The Fond Du Lac River rose to 11 feet
    • On Thursday, June 12, 2008 people were evacuated by boat
    • About 300-400 people are sheltered at county fairgrounds and at a high school
    • No injuries have been reported
    • The flooding caused Highway 41 to close
    • The smell of natural gas smelt by residents is caused by vehicles stalling in the road
    • Many houses are flooded
    • Sewer systems have been backed up
    • Residents urged not to drink drinking water due to the flooding
    • Residents are also being told to stay out of flood water because it has been contaminated with fecal matter
  • Residents of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin are being forced to evacuate due to flooding. Around 300-500 people have taken up shelter at high school and county fairgrounds. Boats were used during the evening of Thursday June 12, 2008 to evacuate people. The Fond Due Lac River rose to 11 feet.
