The Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) is the deity of a religion called The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. The FSM was conceived to parody the theory of intelligent design.

Conception
The Flying Spaghetti Monster was developed by Bobby Henderson in response to a decision by the Kansas state board of education to mandate the teaching of intelligent design.
