Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is a professional boxer. He is currently undefeated and holds the WBC Welterweight Championship.
Mayweather, who announced his retirement from boxing in June of 2008, announced in May of 2009 that he would return to the ring to fight Juan Manuel Marquez. The fight will air on HBO pay-per-view on July 28, 2009, from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.ESPN.com: Mayweather Jr. to Fight Again
Boxing Career
Starting his career in 1996, Mayweather had an 11-year boxing career, recording 39 wins, including 25 knockouts and 14 decisions. Among his notable fights include a December 17, 2002, defeat of Jose Luis Castillo by decision in 12 rounds, a May 5, 2007, defeat of Oscar De La Hoya by decision in 12 rounds, and his final fight before retirement, a defeat of Ricky Hatton on December 8, 2007, by total knock out in the 10th round.WWE
On March 30, 2008, Mayweather faced pro-wrestler Big Show in a match at WWE's WrestleMania XXIV pay-per-view. Despite the wrestler's dominance for the majority of the match, Mayweather brought Big Show to his knees with several steel chair shots, then knocked him out with a punch laced with brass knuckles.-
