Objective
Players assume the role of commander of an alien spaceship. The mission of the game is to herd as many flocks of animals, including: sheep, chicken, cows and pigs, past various obstacles into the "Mother Flocker." As noted by Joystiq, the fun of the game is partly found in killing the flock you herd. Points can be earned by herding animals in a timely manner. However, there is no timer implemented on the levels.Joystiq: Joystiq E3 hands-on: Flock (July 21, 2008)
Features
- 55 levels of puzzle challenges
- Secret upgrades and collectibles as you advance through levels
- Editor that allows users to create and share puzzles
- Graphically nuanced three-dimensional levels
- Physics engine that controls the puzzle elements of Flock
Physics Engine
Flock uses a physics engine which drives the puzzle elements of the game. The various tools that can be implemented by the player include a tractor beam and a depressor beam. The tractor beam can be employed to move obstacles such as gates, stones and other impediments. The depressor beam is used to guide herds and to stamp out crop circles. Players also have the ability to edit their own levels.
