The FlipStart launched in the United States on March 27, 2007 with a starting price of just under $2000. The price was then dropped to $1499 in September 2007 and $699 in January 2008.The FlipStart is extremely small, weighing only 1.75 pounds and measuring 4.5 x 5.9 x 1.6 inches. It has a folding 6.5-inch screen with a 30GB hard drive, built-in WiFi, and Bluetooth capability. The computer also has a high capacity battery, 512 MB of memory, and a camera built in under the screen. The unit offers two USB ports for expansion. An expansion cover provides access to a built-in SIM socket.
