The Flintstones was a 1960s cartoon series based on the popular 1950s sitcom The Honeymooners, but set in a fictional prehistoric era when men and dinosaurs coexisted. The shows in the series are frequently repeated, and are currently broadcast on Cartoon Network’s classic cartoon channel, Boomerang. A 1994 film adaptation of the show, starring John Goodman, Elizabeth Perkins, and Rick Moranis, brought the characters to life on the big screen.

Brief Background
The premise for the television show revolves around four main characters: Fred and Wilma Flintstone, and Barney and Betty Rubble. Each of the families has one child: the Flintstones have a daughter, Pebbles, and the Rubbles have a son, the rambunctious Bamm-Bamm. The Flintstones also have a small pet dinosaur named Dino and a pet "cat" (a saber-toothed tiger) named Baby Puss. Fred is a working-class Stone Age joe who labors everyday down at the stone quarry for his boss Mr. Slate. -
