• Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement are Flight of the Conchords, "New Zeland's fourth most popular folk-comedy duo" or, at least, that's how they bill themselves. The duo are signed to Sub Pop Records and released their first stateside full-length album, the self-titled Flight of the Conchords, in April 2008.

  It was recently announced that the Conchords would be making songs from the show's second season, which premieres on January 18th on HBO, available for purchase the day after each episode airs.

• History

  The pair began performing together in 1998 and gained worldwide attention after receiving a nomination for the Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2003. A BBC radio series followed and, two years later, HBO gave McKenzie and Clement a half-hour stand-up spot in the televised series One Night Stand. The popularity of the half-hour led to a series deal with HBO, and the Flight of the Conchords television show premiered in June 2007.
