Fleshbot is a sexually-themed blog, published by Gawker Media. It is located at fleshbot.com. The current tag line of the site is: Fleshbot: Pure Filth.
Launched in November 2003 as the third online website from Gawker Media (Gawker.com and Defamer.com were both the first and second sites), the sites publishes blog posts on various sexual subject matters including articles on sex toy usage, links to amateur sex blogs, photo galleries, news about sex in popular culture, adult movies, adult DVDs and advertising. Within the first 7 months, Fleshbot was reporting over six-million pageviews per month, surpassing Gawker Media's other blogging sites.
The content overall is both heterosexual and homosexual erotica content is available. Users have the ability to choose to filter the amount of coverage between the two. Most of the content is in blog post format, with the main page of the site showing multiple posts in a thumbnail-list layout. Links to each post are uncensored, meaning they are not labeled with any adult-content warnings. It is expected that all visitors to the site, based on the adult-related nature of the site, are of adult age.
The format of the posts are mostly photos and videos, with each post's subject matter using the photos and/or videos to give as much detail to the reader.
Lux Alptraum (formerly Lux Nightmare) is the current editor. The first editor was John d'Addario.
Fleshbot is also known for the Fleshbot Awards show, most recently held in New York City on November 11, 2009. Guests that attended included socialite Tinsley Mortimer and Levi Johnston.
Fleshbot.com appears on the ACMA Blacklist, an Internet censorship list in Australia) that was released via Wikileaks on March 20, 2009.
