Keep Your Programs Up to Date
One way to get your computer running faster is by updating your software, your operating system and your browser. If your programs are up to date, you will be safer from security breaches when you browse the internet. In addition, some hardware changes require you to update your software so it will work better with the new item.
Windows Update
Click the Start menu.- Go to All Programs.
- Click on Windows Update.
- Click on Check for updates. Make sure to install the critical updates.
Browser Update
It's important to make sure your internet browser is up to date because this is one way to prevent online security breaches. Make sure to update all your programs that connect to the internet. - Go to Help in your browser.
- Go to About.
- Find the current version of your browser.
- If your browser is not up to date, it will request that you update it.
