For your system to startup faster, it helps to remove unnecessary startup items that may be slowing your computer down. Many programs that you install may automatically configure themselves to startup with your computer, eating up your memory and resources to slow down your computer.

Click on the Start Menu and type Run in the search field at the bottom.

Click on Run under Programs at the top of the search results.

Type msconfig in the Run dialogue box that pops up and click OK.

The System Configuration box will appear. Click the Startup tab to view which programs are starting with your computer. Every box that is checked indicated a program that is automatically starting. The unchecked boxes are programs that are disabled from automatically starting. Go through the list and determine which programs you want to automatically start and which ones you don't. 

Keep in mind: the more programs you have chosen to start automatically, the slower your computer will startup. So, one option you have is to Disable all programs. This will keep your startup tasks to a minimum and speed your computer's startup process. Also, the changes won't take affect until after you restart your computer.
