In this video, Mahalo computer expert Sean Hewitt shows you how to uninstall programs from your computer that you don't need or want.
How to Uninstall a Program
It's a good idea to look through the programs and software on your computer and remove anything you don't need or use. This is a way to free up space on your hard drive to make the computer run faster.
Method 1: - Click on your Start menu.
- Click "All Programs."
- Go to a specific program and find the uninstall option.
Method 2:
- Click on your Start menu.
- Click on the control panel.
- Go to Uninstall Program (underneath Programs)
- Select the specific program you want to uninstall.
Things to Know When Uninstalling
- Do not uninstall a program by deleting it from the directory. This will not remove everything that's attached to the program and may leave some files behind.
- Once you've made more free space on your hard drive, you'll be able to defragment your computer. Defragmenting requires at least 15 percent free space on the hard drive.
