What Is Facebook Phishing?
Recognize and Protect Against Phishing Scams
Examine the URL address in the message and check if it actually goes to where it claims. If it looks suspicious, enter the address in an internet search engine and look for the company information or warnings from other users.
- If you accidentally "Like" a page that is a scam, make sure you "Unlike" it and then report it as soon as possible.
- If you've been a victim of a phishing scam, always change your account password. If you don't, the phisher will still have access to your login information and will be able to send scams to all your friends.
- Make your Facebook account more secure by browsing with a secure connection. You can do this by going to Account, Account Settings, scroll to Account Security, click on Browse on secure connection and click Save.
