In February of 2008, it was announced that filmmaker Judd Apatow, producer of the hit comedy films Superbad, Knocked Up and The 40 Year Old Virgin will produce a new comedy film for Universal Pictures titled Five Year Engagement. The story follows a couple through their hectic and prolonged engagement period. Co-writer Nicholas Stoller describes the script as the hypothetical sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall, if the lead character had chosen to remain in a relationship with Sarah Marshall.
