Lego League
Since 1999, FIRST has organized the Lego League, a competition for younger students, as a compliment to its First Robotics Competition. In the Lego League, students ranging in age from nine to 14 use specialized Lego kits to build machines and solve problems. FIRST Lego League: Home pageLunacy
In 2009, the game challenge was called Lunacy. Six FIRST teams competed in each match. They were divided into two alliances, red and blue. Each robot had to pull around a 40lb trailer. The main goal was to score moon rocks in the trailers on the opposing alliance. Each moon rock was worth two points. Watch the 2009 game animation for more details about autonomous mode, empty cells, and super cells.
