Buying Guide
When looking for a fire pit, know the price range. There are several types of fire pits available suited for different purposes.Before purchasing any fire pit check the open fire regulations in the area.
For an outdoor grill fire pit, be sure that the fire pit chosen can be used as a grill.
For a decorative fire pit, know how the materials change over time. Copper will turn greenish and cast iron may rust if not cared for properly. Stone and tile fire pits are more expensive. Keep in mind where you will be keeping the fire pit. Cement and decks can stain from a fire pit if it is rusted. If the fire pit is intended for bare ground, an open bottom pit can be used or one can be built from bricks or stones.
For a camping fire pit consider the portability of the fire pit. It should be easy to lift and move. Remember that it also needs to be transfered inside a vehicle and should be free of loose ash and rust. Be sure to get a fire pit that can be cleaned easily.
