What Digital Camera gave the Z100fd a rating of 86 out of 100, liking the design and size as well as reporting good quality and a multitude of features. They did however dock points for sluggish performance.

    PhotographyBlog gave the overall model four of five stars, but cited below average image quality and difficulty navigating on-screen menus. Amazon customers also reported poor quality photos and did not like the placement of the lens, which can be easily covered by a finger when holding the camera.
