Echoes of Time is the sequel to the Nintendo DS game, Ring of Fates, released in March 2008. A village girl is very ill with the mysterious "crystal sickness" and the game's 16-year old hero is tasked with finding a cure. The story is fairly straightforward and unfolds through the completion of different quests, including a variety of sidequests that add many hours of playtime.

There are four different character classes to choose from and familiar races from Ring of Fates will be returning: Clavats, Lilties, Selkies and Yukes. The Clavats are fearsome swordmasters, strong in melee combat. The Yukes are scientists and scholars who excel in magic. Selkies, acrobatic and agile, make good bowsmen. Despite their diminutive stature, the Lilties are formidable in battle, with their skillful use of spears and hammers.

New customization features allow players to create personalized armor and equipment for their characters, and Wii users can even import their Miis, or avatars, into the game.

Using the Pollux Engine, which provides cross-platform compatibility, gamers on both the Wii and DS will be able to play together using Wi-Fi. Players can share their adventures with anybody in world at any time.
