  • The Final Destination movies are a series of horror films created by James Wong and Glen Morgan in which teens attempt to escape death's mathematical design. In the films death is personified as an entity with a natural order or plan, which if violated by human intervention will actively seek to correct by hunting down the offenders and killing them using elaborate “accidents.”
  • Final Destination Story (2000)

The film opens with a high school class at an airport, loading themselves onto a plane. Alex Browning (Devon Sawa) is on his way to France with his senior class: Clear Rivers (Ali Larter), Carter Horton (Kerr Smith), Ms. Valerie Lewton (Kristen Cloke), Billy Hitchcock (Seann William Scott), Tod Waggner (Chad Donella) and Terry Chaney (Amanda Detmer). Before the plane can take off, Alex has a devastating prophetic vision, in which he sees the entire plane exploding shortly after takeoff. Alex is able to wrest himself and six others off the plane, before what he fears comes true. After the accident, the survivors begin to die in elaborately random ways. Alex begins to pick up on a pattern: death is coming after them, and is killing his friends in the same order they would have died in, had they remained on the plane.
