FIFA Soccer 08 is a soccer game from EA Sports that allows single-player, multiplayer, and online play. The game is available for all of the current and next-generation consoles, as well as computers with Windows XP. The game features several players on the cover including Ronaldinho and Wayne Rooney (U.K. version). More than 600 teams from 30 leagues are featured in the game. The game received mostly positive reviews from video game critics. The best reviews came for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.

Gameplay:
Added to this year's gameplay is a trick system. Players can perform special maneuvers with the ball by performing a certain button combination. The tricks can allow a player to cut through the defense without getting challenged.The most notable game mode is Be-A-Pro mode. Players take on the role of just one soccer player. Throughout the season, player earns reputation points based on how well he or she performs with the team. The goal is to be good when you are asked to perform rather than take the ball and try to score every time. There are some games where you will rarely receive the ball or have an option to play defense.

Competitive:
The Championship Gaming Series, a professional video game league based in North America, announced this past Winter it would use FIFA 08 for its upcoming 2008 league season. The league previously used FIFA 07. The league used the PC version of the game. Additionally, the i-Series, a series of PC tournaments based in the United Kingdom, also uses FIFA 08. -
