Fierce People is an dramatic film directed by Griffin Dunne and starring Diane Lane, Anton Yelchin and Donald Sutherland. The film is based on Dirk Wittenborn's novel of the same name.
Plot Summary
The story follows Finn Earl, a teenager who feels trapped by his mother and the confined living of New York City. He dreams of spending the summer in South America and studying members of a tribe of natives with his father but can not after getting into legal trouble. In an attempt to get their lives together and reset a bit, Finn and his mother, Liz, take up residence with a billionaire who used to do business with her. Finn is able to adapt well, makes friends with members of the family and even falls in love with the teenaged Maya. Liz and her son's status with the family is test after a tragedy, the two find out where they truly stand.
