Field Commander

Field Commander is a real-time strategy video game for the PSP. The game was developed and published by Sony Online Entertainment, a division of Sony that produces major multi-player online games like EverQuest, Everquest II, and PlanetSide. Sony Online Entertainment's main headquarters is in San Diego, California, with additional game development studios in Austin, Texas, Denver, Colorado and Seattle, Washington.

This game is similar to Nintendo's Advance Wars. You pick a CO but you really play on your own, as a new recruit as part of ATLAS (Advanced Tactical Legion for Allied Security), a world alliance of military technology and expertise and battle a crime empire called Shadow Nation on different missions. The CO is just an avatar on the screen. The recruit and his unit will need to find various resources like ammunition and fuel for different weapons and vehicles. Running out of ammunition or fuel will result in the unit not being able to fight and there is a great chance your unit will explode without fuel. The game also features a map editor so players can create and share maps with other online players. The multi-player options include Infrastructure, and a feature called Transmission mode, where each player takes turns and sends them off to the server.
