Canadian professional hockey player Fernando Pisani plays with the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League.
NHL Career
Pisani was drafted 195th overall in the 1996 NHL Draft by the Edmonton Oilers. He did not join the NHL right away and played four years at Providence College. In 2000, Pisani joined the Oilers American Hockey League affiliate, the Hamilton Oilers. He made his NHL debut with the Edmonton Oilers in 2002. During the 2004-05 NHL lockout, Pisani played for the SCL Tigers Langnau in Switzerland and the A&O Asiago Hockey in Italy. He returned to the Oilers in 2005 and played in the Stanley Cup Finals with the team in 2006. Pisani scored an overtime short-handed goal in game five of the finals, which was the first of its kind in the history of the league.Official Site of the Edmonton Oilers: Fernando Pisani He missed the first half of the 2007-08 season after he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. Pisani was able to rejoin the team in December for the remaining 56 games.
