The Federated States of Micronesia is a group of four sovereign state island nation in the Pacific Ocean which is in free association with the United States. It was formerly part of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands under U.S. administration and became independent November 3, 1986.

Geography
Micronesia consists of 607 islands, east of the Philippines and stretches across 1,800 miles. It is a tropical climate that is susceptible to typhoons during the rainy season.Brief History
At first explored by the Portuguese and the Spanish, Micronesia was sold to Germany in 1899, conquered by Japan in 1914 and seized by the United States during World War II.-
