FEAR Walkthrough

The FEAR walkthrough is a full video and text guide for the Xbox 360 version of the 2006 first-person shooter, F.E.A.R.. It provides general gameplay tips, a step-by-step look at each mission, locations of all hidden boosters and tips on how to unlock all achievements. Use the table of contents to jump to a specific level in the game.

F.E.A.R.was first released on PC in late 2005. It became available for the Xbox 360 in late 2006 and for the PS3 in early 2007. The Single-Player story follows a Special Forces team as they investigate a complicated government project called "Origin."http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/fear/index.html?tag=result%3Btitle%3B2

In February 2009, the video game received a direct sequel, known as F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, and on March 22, 2011, a third episode will be released. General Gameplay Tips

  1. Health and Reflex Boosters increase the main character's health and length of time spent in bullet time. Health boosters glow in a pale blue color and reflex boosters are yellow.

  2. Use the environment to your advantage and stay on the move. Enemies have a tendency to flank your position and use explosives on your hiding spot. Move between cover points and fire shots during bullet time.

  3. Carry a variety of weapons for more options during battle. Carrying three machine guns may allow for lots of ammo, but they aren't as effective as the shotgun in close range battles.

  4. Combine bullet time and melee attacks at the end of a large battle to kill the stragglers. There are a variety of kicks and punches that can be performed after putting the weapon in the holster.

  5. Throw remote bombs and proximity mines in the path of the enemy. Use yourself as bait and draw the soldiers to your position. Mines are crucial for the armored enemies.

  6. Turn up the audio and listen for the enemy radio chatter. They consistently give away their position as well as offer up squad movements.

  7. Aim for the neck of an enemy and allow the machine guns to naturally move toward the head. This method kills enemies quickly and conserves bullet time for the next soldier.

  8. Be wary of the recharge period on bullet time. There is a brief delay until it can be used again. Try to conserve enough energy on the slow motion meter to distribute between the enemies. Bullet time offers greater accuracy for all weapons, so try to use fewer bullets.

  9. There is also an accuracy boost involved when crouching. Crouch behind cover and peek out with the lean button to get the most accurate shot without entering bullet time.

Inception

SITUATION: A high level alert has been issued.

MISSION: F.E.A.R. team is to report for emergency briefing on the situation. You have just been transferred to the unit as point man. This will be your first assignment with F.E.A.R.

CUTSCENE: In 2002, the United States military created a first response team of soldiers for paranormal events. Their name is F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon). A vision of a strange little girl is seen walking toward a kneeling soldier named Paxton Fettel. Fettel starts walking around the facility killing ATC guards indiscriminately. More soldiers storm the facility to kill the ATC security and free Fettel. The final shot shows Fettel feasting on the corpse of a dead man.

Point of Origin

  1. CUTSCENE: A senator is called about project Origin. The caller tells the Senator that Fettel has taken command of the prototypes. The scene shifts to the main character watching Fettel's handiwork on a video monitor. Fettel has taken control of a battalion of psychic clone soldiers. There may be a chance to stop their advance by tracking down and killing Fettel.

  2. Take a moment to get used to the control scheme after leaving the car. RS moves the character, LS moves the camera, RT fires the weapon, LT throws a grenade, LB starts bullet time and RB switches weapons. The D-Pad handles the flashlight, grenade type and leaning to the left or right. X is the action button, B offers a melee hit, A makes the character jump, clicking LS goes into a crouch and clicking RS goes into a zoom mode.

  3. Take a right around the corner and shoot the boards. Take a right into the door next to the burning trash can. Pass through the hallway and into the large room. Speak to Jankawski on the left near the boards.

  4. BOOSTER: After speaking to Jankawski, take a right into the room next to the stairs. There is a health booster on the workbench in the back of the room. (1/1)

  5. Walk up the stairs and follow the passage to the right. Pass through the murky black fog and toward Fettel's position. Crouch under the door (click RS) and take a right through the door at the end of the hall.

  6. Shoot the padlock on the door ahead and proceed up the stairs. Jankawski knocks a shelving unit out of the way to allow entry. Follow him into the next room and search the area for a bloody corpse sitting in a chair.

  7. Proceed up the stairs next to the body after Jankawski decides to wait for Jin. Cross the rooftop and pass through a long hallway filled with windows. Exit back onto the roof on the opposite side and take a right in between two AC units.

  8. After getting jumped by Fettel, wait for Fettel to blather on about his reasons for killing everyone in the facility. After passing out again, get back up and backtrack to rejoin the team downstairs near the dead body.

Initiation

SITUATION: Fettel's tracking signal was lost in Auburn. The body of an unidentified male was discovered there. Hannibal-3 spy satellite shows a Replica force at South River Wastewater Treatment Plant.

MISSION: F.E.A.R. operatives will join SFOD-D to recon the area. F.E.A.R. technical officer, Jin Sun-Kwon, will stay in Auburn.

CUTSCENE: Two choppers are seen hovering over the docks. The troops are repelling from the chopper to the dock below. They are surrounded by red and blue shipping containers.

First Encounter

  1. BOOSTER: Take a right at the gate and follow the narrow passage to a partially open garage door. Crouch under the door and collect the yellow reflex booster on the crate. (1/3)

  2. Walk back outside and up the metal stairs. Follow the linear passage to a dead body and the control switch for the gate. Press X to open the gate.

  3. Backtrack to the now open gate and pass through the murky smoke. Watch the soldiers get vaporized. Proceed into the Warehouse through the door at the far end of the yard.

  4. Pass through the locker room and peek into the next door to shoot a soldier clone in the back. Hit LB and pass through the door to shoot a second soldier on the left. (Hit Y to use a kit.) Pass through the halls to find a red med-kit on a gray shelving unit.

  5. Walk up the gray stone stairs and pick up another med-kit in the office on the right. Break the wooden boards on the window and take a right on the overhang. Fall into the small section to the right and open the gray door.

  6. Ready the sub-machine gun and enter the large room. Use bullet time and the cover of the crates to kill five soldiers in the vicinity. Proceed outside through the door to the right and kill two more soldiers near the black truck.

  7. TIP: There is another med-kit in the nearby office if needed.

  8. Collect the ammo off the dead clones and proceed into the white door near the black truck. Pass through the small storage room and into a large room with three shelving units.

  9. BOOSTER: Look at the end of the first row of crates. There is a blue health booster on the second shelf. Use the nearby boxes to jump up and reach it. (2/3)

  10. Pass through the next room and use bullet time to kill two unaware soldiers. Kill the third soldier that charges the room from the right side. Before enter the next large room with the hanging crate, pick up the two health kits, two grenades and body armor in the office.

  11. Strafe into the room facing right and kill two soldiers on the far end of the room. Climb the stairs on the opposite end and walk through the maze of offices to find a third solider.

  12. TIP: After killing the third soldier in the hall, turn around to enter another closed office. There is body armor, grenades, an extra pistol and dual Uzi's sitting inside.

  13. Jump over the walkway covered with crates and into the crane control room. Pick up ammo and listen to the phone message before using the crane control. Jump back over the crates and wait for the shipping container to make a path for you.

  14. Try to hold off on shooting the soldiers on the opposite side of the room until crossing the crate. Kill all three soldiers using bullet time and take a right into the hallway.

  15. Search the area for a med-kit and body armor. Take either hallway to reach the closed white door. Pass through and use the overhead position to fire on the three soldiers walking below.

  16. Take the stairs down to the lower level and move out the double doors on the left. There are four soldiers waiting in the courtyard and three more ready to pop out the door opposite your position.

  17. Go into bullet time and use the large shipping container on the left as cover. Use the dual Uzi's to take out the entire lot. Move to the opposite side of the open area and take a right down a set of stairs.

  18. BOOSTER: Follow the passage and follow the creepy allusion of Fettel through the halls. At the second glimpse of Fettel, take a right past some machinery and a blue health booster is at the dead end of the tunnel. (3/3)

  19. Follow the trail of blood and climb the stairs into another office. Jump down through the broken window and the strange girl in the red dress starts walking toward you. Turn around immediately and run to the opposite end of the hall.

  20. The main character is blown out the window and the level comes to an end.

Escalation

SITUATION: Hannibal-3 spy satellite online. One F.E.A.R. combat operative has been found alive - remaining operative is still missing. Paxton Fettel's tracking signal was detected.

MISSION: F.E.A.R. operative will attempt to eliminate Fettel. F.E.A.R. technical officer with SFOD-D will search for other F.E.A.R. operative.

CUTSCENE: Jin is hovering over the main character and reporting to HQ that he is still alive.

Infiltration

  1. Follow the alley and take a left down a set of stairs. Pass through the abandoned rooms and pick up the med-kit on the table. Follow the passage to a door that leads back outside.

  2. BOOSTER: Pass over the yellow walkway and through the office. Exit to the lower ground level and move to the opposite side of the vat to find a yellow reflex booster behind some boxes. (1/10)

  3. Return to the office and use the control switch to rotate the bridge. Pass over the rotated bridge and use the two ladders on the right to descend into the tunnels. Turn on the flashlight before moving through the tunnels.

  4. BOOSTER: Continue along the path until reaching a creepy encounter with the little girl in the red dress. Look directly ahead to see the blue glowing health booster in the distance. (2/10)

  5. Take the ladder up and head through the door with the broken glass window. Look to the left to shoot an unaware soldier. (Try shooting the fire extinguisher beside him!) Wait for two more soldiers to charge the room and proceed through.

  6. TIP: There is body armor in the small control room to the right. Also take this opportunity to switch out weapons for the G2 assault rifle.

  7. Strafe into the next room with the two vats facing left. Shoot the soldier waiting to blast you. Take the stairs down to the ground level.

  8. BOOSTER: Look for a small, dark passage near the vat on the right. Follow it to find a yellow reflex booster on a red toolbox. (3/10)

  9. Walk back up the stairs and shoot the lock on the gate to the left. Move up the yellow ladder and follow the passage over the hanging pipes. Smash through the grate in the floor.

  10. Walk through the hallway and prepare to hit LB after spotting the four soldiers across the room. Kill all four in bullet time or use the nearby office for cover. Head through the room and up the stairs near the vending machines.

  11. Grab the grenades and body armor in the hall before entering the next large room. Go back into bullet time to kill the four soldiers roving around the room. Exit via the walkway on the opposite side of the room.

  12. Pick up the assault rifle and body armor in the hallway before using the laptop in the next room. While HQ is speaking to you, search the area for more assault rifle ammo. Move out the light blue double doors with glass windows.

  13. Immediately kill the two soldiers unaware of your presence. This triggers six more soldiers to swarm your position. Use bullet time and the nearby crates for protection.

  14. Walk up the platform on the opposite end and through the twisting hallways. Jump into the shallow pool of water and climb up the ladder. Follow the walkway to another creepy moment with the little girl and drop through the upcoming grate to move further into the building.

Heavy Resistance

  1. SITUATION: F.E.A.R. operative has engaged a second Replica company. SFOD-D teams are preparing to assault Armacham. The body found in Auburn was identified as Charles Habegger, an Armacham researcher.

  2. MISSION: Primary goal is to eliminate Paxton Fettel and then determine enemy objectives.

  3. Climb through the sewer tunnel and jump up into the hallway. Look for an unaware soldier to the left. Navigate the twisting hallways until reaching a large room with metal consoles on the ground floor. Look for five soldiers roaming the area. Use the consoles as cover to pick them off.

  4. Head up the metal staircase and take the blue door outside. Follow the walkway to the right and hit LB. Look for three soldiers near your position and several more when progressing around the walkway.

  5. Circle around the walkway to the right and look for five more soldiers. Use bullet time and the cover of the corner to kill each one. The assault rifle works very well at this position.

  6. BOOSTER: Move down the yellow ladder on the right side of the pit just ahead. There is a green reflex booster on the floor of the pit. (4/10)

  7. Move back up the ladder and into the open blue door. Follow the hall to a broken walkway and take a right to jump over the piping. Move up the stairs to grab assault rifle ammo and body armor.

  8. Move out the nearby door marked exit and press X near the red wheel to raise the water level in the broken walkway room. Backtrack to the water filled room and jump to the opposite side on the floating crates.

  9. Look for two soldiers on an elevated walkway and two soldiers on the ground level in the upcoming room. Move through the hallways to find a remote proximity mine near a set of lockers.

  10. When passing through the room with scattered shelving, use the shelving as cover to evade the enemy fire. Six soldiers pour through the far end of the room to assault your position.

  11. Ready the assault rifle and grenades before moving to the far end of the room. Peek around the corner to shoot a soldier on an elevated ledge. Approach the blue double doors across the wooden planks slowly. Be ready to go into bullet time when the door explodes open.

  12. An armored soldier with a HV Penetrator pops through the door. Back up to the cover of the corner. Use grenades and assault rifle fire to kill him first. Turn your attention to any remaining guards after he's dead.

  13. Pick up the HV and move into the next room. Try to shoot a couple of the soldiers running away from you at the far end of the walkway. Take the stairs to the left for some health and body armor.

  14. BOOSTER: Crouch near the body armor and move under the metal walkway. There is a blue health booster on the floor ahead. (5/10)

  15. Continue along the main walkway and look for two soldiers in the room with the vat of water. Hop into the water and up the ladder on the opposite side. Turn the nearby red wheel to raise the water level and hop back into the water.

  16. Swim over to the office to pick up a combat shotgun and health. Climb the yellow ladder in the office and follow the walkway to a closed door with another murky black smoke cloud.

  17. Move into the room to see a psychic flashback of Fettel interrogating a man. After the flashback, turn to the right and shoot out the grate in the floor. Hop in and follow the tiny passage to another grate. Smash it and drop inside.

Bad Water

  1. SITUATION: Replica forces appear to be withdrawing from South River Wastewater Treatment Plant. Paxton Fettel has not been secured. SDOD-D has entered Armacham headquarters. Initial resistance lighter than expected.

  2. MISSION: Primary Objective remains the elimination of Paxton Fettel.
  3. Take a right out the door and move down the ladder on the walkway. Follow the winding walkway to a small yellow bridge. There is a shotgun and grenade ammo underneath the bridge.

  4. Move over the bridge and past the staircase on the right. (There is a telephone message in an office at the top of the stairs if you are interested in story.) Follow the passage into the room with the Fettel sighting.

  5. BOOSTER: Drop down in in the trench ahead and crouch through the tunnel to find a health booster near a grate. Climb up the ladder to exit the trench. (6/10)

  6. Follow the main passage past another Fettel sighting. Move through the open door and the strange girl will appear again. The room shifts to a vision and the ceiling turns into a pool of blood. Continue moving to the exit doors until the vision stops.

  7. Pick up the health kit and bash open the grate behind the dumpster. Follow the air shaft to a poorly lit room and pick up the health kit. Approach the dead body and HQ contacts you. Wait for an assault of several soldiers when the lights come back on.

  8. Hide behind the nearby wooden crates and fire on the soldiers. Try to use the shotgun for maximum efficiency. After six soldiers have been killed, move through the passage and watch for more roaming patrols.

  9. Look for a closed blue door. Peek through the window to shoot an elevated soldier. Wait for two or three more soldiers to charge your position. Take them down with bullet time and the shotgun.

  10. Instead of climbing the stairs, take the passage to the left. Climb the yellow ladder near the hanging dead body. Move to the end of the walkway and jump onto the piping. Shoot the grate to move along the shaft.

  11. Follow the passage to the right to find another grate. Shoot it and exit to another set of piping. Carefully cross the piping to reach HV ammo and two remote bombs.

  12. BOOSTER: While in this tiny room, jump up the piping and move toward the yellow light. There is a green reflex booster to the left. This is also an excellent position to snipe the soldiers in the room with the heavy machinery. (7/10)

  13. Shoot the soldiers from the elevated cover and take an immediate right into the blue door. Take a left at the vending machines and continue along the walkway. Look for four soldiers along the path. Use bullet time to kill them without losing much health.

  14. When hitting the dead end, turn to the left and jump into the tunnel with yellow lights. At the end of the tunnel, drop to the walkway below.

Exeunt Omnes

  1. SITUATION: Fettel and Replica forces are withdrawing from South River Wastewater Treatment Plant. F.E.A.R. operative neutralized Replica rear guard units and is continuing to pursue enemy forces.

  2. MISSION: Top Priority is to eliminate Paxton Fettel.

  3. BOOSTER: Follow the narrow passage and walk over the short bridge to climb a yellow ladder. At the top of the ladder, move directly forward into the wall. Look to the left to pick up another reflex booster. (8/10)

  4. Pass through the remaining hallways unopposed until reaching the closed blue door. Walk through the door and look for a grate to bash on the left. Don't walk down the main hall to avoid the mines.

  5. Pass through the grate and move down the ladder. Follow the passage through the water filled area and look for two soldiers on patrol at the far end of the next room. (You can see their shadows on the wall.)

  6. Kill the third soldier near the large yellow ladder on the left. Climb the ladder and follow the metal walkway to the piping. Run over the pipes and around the room with the large generators.

  7. BOOSTER: Look for a health booster in the office near the generators. There's also HV ammo inside. (9/10)

  8. Backtrack over the piping and down the yellow ladder. Jump down into the room with the shallow pool of water. Climb the ladder in the corner of the room and shoot the mine on the floor at the top.

  9. This action causes electrical sparks to fly. Take a left at the sparks and flip the breaker on the wall with X. Head into the office to pick up the body armor and access the laptop.

  10. BOOSTER: After the room with the laptop, look on the left to find a locked chain link fence. Shoot the padlock and follow the tunnel to the left. There is a health booster in the small office just ahead. (10/10)

  11. Exit out the door and take the stairs down to the lower level. Use the stairs as cover to shoot the three soldiers in the office directly ahead. Pass through the office and loot their bodies for ammo.

  12. Walk along the hallway to spot two soldiers outside the glass windows to the left. Shoot both from the balcony and return inside the hallway to take the stairs down one floor. Look for the ASP rifle and body armor in the locker area.

  13. Move out the double doors and walk to the left. (Note the body armor on the wooden spool) Look to the double doors at the top of the stairs and wait for a troop transport chopper to release soldiers on the walkway.

  14. Use the ASP rifle and the cover of the blue vat to shoot the soldiers. Use bullet time if they manage to swarm your position in the corner. Pick up the body armor if necessary.

  15. Move up the walkway and through the hallway on the left. The next area is another ambush. Reload your weapons and use health packs before entering the room with the yellow walkways.

  16. Move to the opposite corner and into bullet time to kill the three soldiers on the elevated landing. Wait for two more soldiers to assault from the right side. Switch to the HV before moving up the walkway.

  17. Look to the right when moving up the stairs. An armored soldier bursts through the door with two friends. Toss a couple grenades to his position and use the HV to finish him off.

  18. Pass through the HV soldier entrance and walk down the stairs. Pass the broken vending machines and look for the small office on the left with assault rifle ammo. Exit through another office to the left and jump through the open window.

  19. The final assault requires a good bit of strafing at the nearby corner. Pick up the assault rifle, health and body armor before attacking. Peek out the corner and start by shooting the nearby unaware soldier in the back.

  20. Use bullet time and the cover of the corner to draw the enemy closer. Use shotgun blasts and the assault rifle to wear them down. There are six soldiers and a couple armored soldiers in the area to kill.

  21. After the battle is finished, move to the center of the area and await pickup by the Blackhawk chopper.

Infiltration 2

SITUATION: F.E.A.R. operative is en route to Armacham with SFOD-D escort. F.E.A.R. technical officer is on standby.

MISSION: The team will make a rooftop entry via helicopter. Fettel remains top priority. F.E.A.R. point man will try locating mission SFOD-D team.

LZ is Hot

  1. CUTSCENE: Soldiers are seen being flown over a city nearing the Armachan building. When landing on the rooftop, enemy fire kills two teammates immediately.

  2. There is little cover on the helipad. Make a mad dash directly ahead and use the shotgun to blast the two soldiers inside the welcome area. Wait behind the desk for three more soldiers to assault your position.

  3. Look outside and on the left to spot two more soldiers below. Use the assault rifle or a grenade to kill both quickly. Head down the stairs and follow the stone walkway to the red open door.

  4. Look for two soldiers walking below your position near the red walkway. Use the shotgun to kill both quickly. Exit down the double set of stairs.

  5. BOOSTER: Look to the left at the bottom of the stairs. There is a health booster to the left on a barrel. (1/4)

  6. Look to the right for two soldiers beyond the machinery. The shotgun works very well for the close quarters combat. You can also shoot the electrical panel behind their position for an explosion.

  7. Move back outside and prepare for an attack of six soldiers. Open with the shotgun and switch to the assault rifle for the remainder. Use the metal air conditioning units for cover.

  8. TIP: Look for body armor and grenades in the corner. They are on a blue barrel.

  9. Move up the stairs and back into the building. Look for three soldiers across the room and use bullet time to kill all three immediately.

  10. BOOSTER: Look behind the tan machinery to find a green glowing reflex booster on a blue barrel in the corner. (2/4)

  11. Move into the next room and use the shotgun to rush the soldier position on the stairs. Kill both soldiers and move up the stairs. Look below the ledge just ahead to kill four soldiers roaming around the rooftop. Use the shotgun and grenades for fast kills.

  12. Collect the ammo and drop into the open skylight.

Watchers

  1. SITUATION: F.E.A.R. operative has infiltrated Armacham headquarters. SFOD-D escort killed in ambush.

  2. MISSION: The F.E.A.R. operative will get the company network online for the F.E.A.R. coordinator and then go to the last location of the SFOD-D team.

  3. Jump over the counter on the left side of the room and proceed down the stairs into the screening room. Open the double doors in the screening room and take a right. Follow the creepy hallway to a second set of double doors and use the laptop inside the room.

  4. Exit the laptop room through the light brown door and follow the hallway to a large office on the left. (There is a blinking phone message in this office) Leave through the double doors and exit into the large room with the circular staircase.

  5. TIP: If needed, pick up the shotgun near a set of vending machines on the bottom floor.

  6. Climb the stairs and peek into the first office on the left to spot an acrobatic solider leaping from the walls. (Acrobatic soldiers have the ability to use stealth armor.) Ready the shotgun and blast away.

  7. Move through the hallway and two more acrobatic soldiers charge your position. Back into the corner and look for the wavy outline of their bodies for accuracy. Wait for them to approach you and unload with the shotgun.

  8. Move into the office at the rear of the walkway and look for another blinking phone message. Jump through the plate glass window and continue along the hallway. There is a health kit in the office to the right.

  9. Pass through the dark office and locate the room with vending machines and dead bodies. Hop up on the red vending machine and climb through the ceiling until it breaks open.

  10. Move down the new hallway. Wait for two acrobatic soldiers to attack. Move down the hallway with the blinking light and use the laptop. Take a left into the office at the end of the hall. Mapes crashes through the ceiling on the opposite side of the door ahead.

  11. BOOSTER: Before talking to Mapes, move into the small office to the left of Mapes. Jump up on the filing cabinet and shelving unit to reach the ceiling. There is a reflex booster to the left. (3/4)

  12. Talk to Mapes and click X to give him a com-link. After he opens the door, race through the hallway and look for a lighted office on the right to enter. Pass through the office and look over the ledge ahead to spot three soldiers patrolling on the floor level.

  13. Use bullet time and grenades to quickly dispose of them. Move along the walkway and take the stairs down to the lower level. Look for an open door with more attacking soldiers near the security room.

  14. Move through the office and circle to the left. Enter the security room to restock on ammo and health. Hit the blue panel marked activate on the console to open the outside gate.

  15. Move back into the main room and leave through the newly opened exit. Backtrack to the first meeting point with Mapes and look for a trio of soldiers on patrol just ahead. Another three soldiers attack as you turn the corner just ahead.

  16. Walk through the open gate andMove back into the main room and leave through the newly opened exit. Backtrack to the first meeting point with Mapes and look for a trio of soldiers on patrol just ahead. Another three soldiers attack as you turn the corner just ahead. Grab the body armor on the cart. Move around the perimeter of the room to find another blue panel to activate. This action reboots the servers and triggers several guards to your position.

  17. Use the windows for line of sight and the wall as cover to avoid taking damage during the ambush. Move out the newly opened wooden door and through the last section of office. Enter the construction area and proceed through the halls.

  18. Wander through the construction area and follow the Fettel sightings. When reaching the burning door, be ready to pass through another dream sequence. Move to the left and up the stairs to end the sequence. (Do not move to the right. The little girl kills instantly.)

  19. BOOSTER: After the dream sequence, look to the left and head up the nearby staircase. There is a blue health booster on the red tool box in the corner. (4/4)

  20. Continue through the construction area until reaching a bloody floor. Jin walks off the elevator with a friendly soldier. Exit in the direction of the soldier and jump off the ledge to end the level.

Extraction

SITUATION: Remains of missing SFOD-D team have been found. F.E.A.R. technical officer is on scene conducting forensic analysis. F.E.A.R. mission coordinator has detected Paxton Fettel's transmitter signal in the area. Armacham personnel are presently unaccounted for.

MISSION: F.E.A.R. combat operative will attempt to intercept Fettel.

Bishop

  2. Move through the opening hallway until reaching a dark room with five soldiers. Three soldiers are on the elevated walkway above your position and the other two are in nearby cubicles.

  3. Exit the opposite side and look for two more soldiers on the far end of the room. They hide behind the cubicle walls. Use the shotgun to take both out quickly. Look for another ambush of four soldiers around the next corner.

  4. Use the stone pillars as cover and blast each soldier with the shotgun. Move into the glass room in the back to find a man with a bomb strapped to his chest in a storage closet on the right. Give the man a com-link by pressing X.

  5. Exit the room on the right and look for a darkened hallway. It leads to the bank of elevators. Quickly move to the small welcome counter on the left side of the room and wait for enemies to appear from the elevators.

  6. Each elevator carries two soldiers. Use the assault rifle from a distance or the shotgun up close to kill the first three rounds of men. The final elevator unleashes an armored soldier. Toss a couple grenades into the elevator and finish him off with the assault rifle from cover.

  7. Eventually friendly soldiers arrive in the last elevator. Wait for Holiday to blow a hole in the wall and escort the team to the man with the chest bomb. Move through the newly opened gate to the left when the fire alarm goes off.

  8. BOOSTER: Instead of walking up the stairs, stick to the hallway. There is a health booster in the last office just ahead. (1/4)

  9. Backtrack and move up the staircase. Follow the walkway to another elevator. Look for a small security room on the left and enter it to activate the blue panel on the console. (Look out the window for a creepy surprise!)

  10. Move into the newly working elevator and exit into another construction site. Use the barrel on the right to jump up into the ceiling area. Proceed through the small shaft ahead and pass through to the room with bloody bodies falling from above.

  11. Exit the small room through the nearby closed door and use the laptop. Move into the office at the end of the hall and outside to the ledge around the building. Use the ledge to reach an office on the opposite side of the closed gate.

  12. Move through the hallway and into the construction area. Kill the first two soldiers on patrol in the room and three more in the hallway preceding the first room. There is body armor and grenade ammo to the left.

  13. Move through the halls and fire on an explosive barrel ahead to damage another hiding soldier. Two more soldiers attack after hearing the shots. Use bullet time and the shotgun to kill them quickly.

  14. Look for three soldiers waiting in an ambush on the walkway of the following room. Use the yellow explosive barrels for quicker kills and fire with the assault rifle from a distance.

  15. Drop off the ledge onto the scaffolding below. Peek around the corner of the next room and toss a grenade into the middle. The blast should take care of the nearby soldiers. Shoot the remaining soldier on the elevated ledge.

  16. Move along the hallway and toss another grenade into the squad of six soldiers. The resulting blast kills at least a couple. Use the shotgun and bullet time to mop up the rest.

  17. BOOSTER: Look for a set of stairs to the far left side of the room. Follow along the walkway until reaching the overhead ledge of the previous room. There is a glowing reflex booster on the ledge. (2/4)

  18. Jump down off the ledge and move into the narrow hallway on the right. Use the scaffolding and wooden planks to climb up the shaft. At the top of the shaft, use the red toolbox to leap over the wooden barrier.

Blindside

  1. SITUATION: F.E.A.R. operative freed Aldus Bishop who has interrogated about Harlan Wade (whereabouts unknown). He said Wade's daughter, Alice, may be a Replica prisoner. Holiday is escorting Bishop to the roof for evacuation.

  2. MISSION: F.E.A.R. operative will meet Holiday at the helicopter landing zone (HLZ).

  3. Exit out the red door and immediately assault the two soldiers shooting at the chopper. Use the cover of the large AC units to avoid taking damage. Wait at this position for three more soldiers to approach from the right side of the roof.

  4. Walk through the maze of metal equipment and fire on the four soldiers from the elevated position. Use the assault rifle to pick each man off. Re-enter the main building and fire on the five soldiers waiting just inside.

  5. Exit back out past the closing elevator and watch as the chopper takes off without you. Use the assault rifle to shoot the two ATC soldiers ahead as well as the two soldiers to the left.

  6. Approach the stairs with caution and look for four soldiers moving in from the right. There is also a soldier firing an ASP rifle from the rooftop ahead. Kill each one for moving into the red door on the landing.

  7. Look for three guards on the overhead ledge. Charge up the stairs with the shotgun and bullet time. Wait on the landing for three more soldiers to appear from all angles of the room.

  8. Move up the stairs and around the landing to the left. Look for two more soldiers to appear from the opening red door just ahead. A well-timed grenade blast works wonders.

  9. Move into the open door and look for two soldiers firing from a dark area to the right. Toss a grenade into their position and jump to the air shaft below. Try to cross the shaft and prepare to fall into a pool of water when it breaks.

  10. BOOSTER: Toss a grenade into the gated hallway ahead to trigger a large explosion. Back up to the water section for safety. Look at the end of the hallway on the left for a reflex booster. (3/4)

  11. Backtrack and climb the broken walkway created by the explosion. Exit through the door and follow the passage to a dead end near some propane tanks. Turn around and crouch into the tunnel just ahead.

  12. Follow the passage and a large section of the building crashes through the red walkway just ahead. Jump off the walkway to the right (Not into the abyss!) and look for another tunnel to crouch into.

  13. Move to the opposite side of the red bridge by walking through the utility passage. The paths are blocked by two ruptured gas lines. Jump off the second section of red bridge and crouch through yet another tunnel. Use the red wheel to turn off the gas.

  14. BOOSTER: Instead of leaving the room, turn around the climb the ladder. Move through an air conditioning shaft to find a blue glowing health booster. (4/4)

  15. Exit through previous blocked area with the flaming gas line and move up the ladder. Take a left into a large room with a non working elevator. Move through the passage to the right and look for the room with a red wheel on a red walkway.

  16. Turn the wheel to raise the water level and jump into the muck. Swim underneath the boxes on the far end to emerge on the opposite side of the locked gate. Flip the blinking red switch on the wall to return power to the elevator.

  17. Climb the nearby yellow ladder and use the walkway to return to the previous water room. Jump off the ledge and move back toward the elevator. Toss a grenade at the elevator as it opens to kill the two regular soldiers inside.

  18. Take out the armored soldier with the assault rifle and use the elevator controls to end the level.

Interception

SITUATION: F.E.A.R. combat operative has resurfaced after being temporarily out of contact. F.E.A.R. coordinator is tracking Paxton Fettel on the far side of the research area.

MISSION: F.E.A.R. operative will traverse research area to intercept Fettel.

Sayonara, Sucker

  1. Be ready to jump into bullet time as the elevator opens up. There are four soldiers wandering around the room. Use the white box to the right for cover. Move into the office after the fight to pick up ammo and body armor.

  2. Move through the office and take a right into a green sliding door. Walk through the empty labs and up the stairs to the left. Mapes is hiding behind a couch. Speak to him briefly.

  3. BOOSTER: Take a left into a hallway of small labs. Proceed to the last lab on the left to watch a scientist being eaten in a vent. Walk into that small lab to pick up a blue health booster. (1/6)

  4. Continue through the labs to find eight soldiers patrolling the halls. Use a grenade to scatter them and the shotgun to finish off each one. Move through the hallway until reaching another green sliding door.

  5. Peek inside the door and shoot the two soldiers rushing up the staircase. Load up on body armor in this room and take the stairs to the utility tunnel. Look for two more soldiers at the end of the tunnel.

  6. Use the laptop in the lab ahead and exit through the green sliding door. Move down the hallway to the right and jump off the ledge. Look for three more soldiers on the ledge just ahead. Use a grenade to kill them quickly.

  7. Follow the hallway to the security room. Pick up the body armor on the desk and use the blue activate panel to release the gate locks.

  8. BOOSTER: After activating the panel, exit through the newly opened door and backtrack to the opening portion of the level. Move through the empty labs and pick up the yellow reflex booster in a small office. (2/6)

  9. Return up the stairs to watch Mapes exiting on an elevator. Move into the small side room beside the elevator and use the narrow ledge to reach the yellow ladder on the opposite side.

  10. Climb up a second ladder and cross another ledge to reach an air shaft. Fall into the shaft to continue.

Unauthorized Personnel

  1. SITUATION: Armacham engineer Norton Mapes has again resisted rescue effort by F.E.A.R. point man. Paxton Fettel's position has remained stationary.

  2. MISSION: Every effort must be made to reach Fettel before he relocates.

  3. Move through the linear tunnel and down the yellow ladder. Move through the hallway to speak to Mapes at a large window. He unleashes a turret from the center of the room. Be ready to blast it with the shotgun.

  4. Backtrack to the tunnel and the passage that housed the turret is now open. Shoot the grate and fall through to the opposite side of the locked gate. Take a right into the upcoming hallway.

  5. Stick to the left side of the passage to avoid turret fire from the end of the hallway. Look on the right side of the hallway to spot a locked gate. Shoot the padlock on the gate and enter to use the breaker box to cut the power to the turret.

  6. Move through the green sliding door and use the laptop inside the room. Exit through the open doorway on the left and approach the next turret from the rear. Use bullet time and shotgun blasts to take it out quickly.

  7. Head down the hallway and take a right into a room with a large square desk. Look for another turret on the opposite side of the room. Use the cover of the desk to fire shotgun shells without taking damage.

  8. TIP: You can also avoid the turret completely by using the access air shaft on the left side of the room.

  9. Continue through the empty lab and look for an access tunnel on the right side of the room when the fourth turret opens fire. Use it to find another breaker box to cut the turret's power.

  10. Follow the hallway again and take a right when viewing Mapes crawling into the air ducts. Enter an office on the right side of the hallway to avoid another shooting turret.

  11. Crawl through a series of air shafts on the left side of the small office. Pop out of the shaft and fire on the turret with the shotgun. Climb up the ledge and move into the green sliding door.

  12. Look for another tunnel to enter. Follow it to the left and use the yellow ladder to reach the opposite side of a locked door. Walk into the next room and two soldiers repel from the glass window above your position.

  13. Use the shotgun and bullet time to kill both men quickly. Wait at this position for two more soldiers entering at the far end of the room. Switch to the assault rifle and use the supports for cover.

  14. BOOSTER: Move into the small lab on the left side of this room and pick up a reflex booster in a darkened side room. (3/6)

  15. Exit in the direction of the second group of soldiers and move through the hallway to a large open room. Strafe into the room facing right to kill a soldier and a turret.

  16. Back up and wait for three more soldiers to assault your position. After the battle is finished, scavenge the large room to find body armor and tons of ammo.

  17. TIP Place mines leading from the second elevator lift to the opposite side. This will come in handy in a moment. Also note the position of the rocket launcher in the hallway off the control room.

  18. Move into the control room and click the blue activate button. This releases the elevator and a giant mechanical tank. Lead the tank over the mines and use rocket blasts to finish him off. Remember to hit the health button immediately if one of his rocket blasts hit you.

  19. Exit the room on the elevator that the mechanical soldier used. Move through the dark rooms and look for a red ladder on the opposite side. Follow the walkway to a small tunnel and use it to reach the gas-filled room.

  20. Instead of entering the gassed room, move to the far end of the hallway and climb the two ladders. Shoot through the floor grate to reach the gas control room. Hit activate on the blue panel to clear the gassed room.

  21. BOOSTER: Walk up the stairs to the right of the blue panel. There is a blue health booster on a desk. (4/6)

  22. Use the laptop in the previously gassed room and exit on the right side. Follow the dark passage to a light brown closed door. Enter to stock up on ammo and use the turret control.

  23. Use the turret to blast as many soldiers as possible before they make it explode. Soldiers will be appearing from all directions. After it has been destroyed, climb over the desk and exit into the hallway.

  24. Move through the cubicles with the shotgun and blast the soldiers at short range. The number of soldiers in the room is wholly dependent on the number you killed with the turret.

  25. Move through the exit door and take a right into the hallway. Look for three or four soldiers on an elevated ledge just ahead. Shoot them with the assault rifle from cover.

  26. Move up the stairs and kill the two soldiers running around the corner with the shotgun. Walk past the blood-stained elevators and jump off the ledge on the right side of the hallway.

Afterimage

  1. SITUATION: Fettel's signal is gone again. Armacham advisor suggests this may be the result of combat damage to the transmitter. It seems that Armacham engineer Norton Mapes is sabotaging the F.E.A.R. mission.

  2. MISSION: Primary mission is to locate Fettel and then take Norton Mapes into custody for questioning.

  3. Move forward to fire on the malfunctioning turret and take a right into the hallway. Follow the hallway to the left for another creepy Fettel sighting.

  4. BOOSTER: Look in the last office on the left to find a health booster on the table. (5/6)

  5. BOOSTER: Exit through the sliding door and approach the window to chat with Fettel. Move through the door on the right and look for a green glowing reflex booster in the back of the room. (6/6)

  6. Move out the green sliding door marked exit and take a left through the hallway. When the psychic vision begins, move through the decrepit hallway and look into the delivery room. The scene ends quickly in a scream.

  7. Pass through the wooden door and follow the passage to three ATC soldiers patrolling a nearby hall. Rush them with bullet time and the shotgun to end the fight quickly.

  8. Move downstairs to encounter three more ATC soldiers. Use the cover of the desk wall to avoid taking damage. Use the laptop in the room on the left and proceed down the hall.

  9. Move down the hall and into a small security room. Grab some ammo and watch the ensuing battle outside the window. Allow it to continue before feeling comfortable enough to move outside and join in.

  10. Use grenades and the assault rifle to end the fight quickly. Move through the end of the hallway and past the vending machine. Stand on the platform at the stairs to pick off two soldiers at the end of the hall.

  11. Move along the hallway and be wary of the two soldiers shooting on your position from the outside. Snipe both from the cover of the window. Proceed around the corner to encounter two more soldiers.

  12. Continue to the opposite side of the building and look for two more soldiers assaulting your position. After they fall, peek into the room to spot an armored soldier in the distance. Use the assault rifle and bullet time to kill him quickly.

  13. Exit out the door and look for two soldiers shooting in the distance. Use the nearby ASP rifle to kill them quickly. Hop over the ledge and prepare for another mechanical soldier.

  14. Lay out any mines on the hallway ahead and move to the potted plant to trigger the mech. Use remote bombs, mines and shotgun blasts to kill the mech. Try to stay in bullet time to evade the rocket blasts.

  15. TIP: Look in the conference area on the left to find health, body armor and weapons.

  16. Look to the right side and wait for two soldiers to emerge from the double doors. Kill them with the shotgun and proceed back into the building. Wait for the three soldiers to kill the lights and rush all three with the shotgun.

  17. Move through the dark storage room and kill two more soldiers. You will be able to pinpoint their position by the red goggles. Exit through the brown door and hop out the window to end the level.

Redirection

SITUATION: Fettel has entered the Executive Building. His most likely target is Harlan Wade or his daughter Alice. Site is believed to be heavily fortified by Replica soldiers.

MISSION: F.E.A.R. operative will attempt to locate Harlan and Alice Wade to evacuate them for debriefing.

Alice Wade

  1. Smash through the office window on the left and walk down the adjoined hallway. Grab the proximity mines in the security office just ahead and head for the elevator. Hop in the lift and press the blue panel to ascend.

  2. When the elevator opens again, walk around the dark hallways and look for Alice Ward's office on the left side of the hallway. Check her phone messages and continue along the hallway to shoot a blood stained patch in the ceiling.

  3. Backtrack to the elevator and it lowers a bit to climb onto the roof of the elevator. Hop on and jump to the right to grab the yellow ladder. Cross to the opposite side of the shaft and climb a second ladder.

  4. Instead of opening the red door, cross to the opposite side again and leave through the second red door into a utility closet. Pass through the empty, dark hallways until reaching a room with a staircase and four soldiers. Use bullet time and the shotgun to kill them quickly.

  5. Climb the stairs and move around the walkway to reach another two soldiers waiting around the corner. (You can spot their shadows immediately.) After disposing of them, move around the corner to attract the attention of soldiers in some distant offices.

  6. Wait for the four soldiers to advance on your position and blast them with the shotgun when turning the corner. Pick up the body armor in the office directly ahead and continue down the dark hallways.

  7. Take a left at the vending machines and two soldiers rush your position from the right upcoming corner. Use the shotgun and bullet time to end the fight immediately. Smash the glass in the office around the corner to continue.

  8. Use the laptop in the office and take a left at the copy machine. Take a right around the next corner to spot two soldiers waiting in the distance. Use the assault rifle and the cover of the corner to kill both men.

  9. Kill a third soldier in the security room to the left. Move inside to pick up ammo, health and body armor. Use the far console first to access the turret. Look for soldiers to shoot on the floor and the upper balconies.

  10. Use the first console to unlock the security doors in the area. Backtrack and take a right in the dark hallway to leave through the newly opened gate. Move past the vending machines and through another open gate into the room with the turret.

  11. Kill any remaining soldiers from the turret battle and take a right into the dark hallway. Peek around the corner to see an armored soldier in the distance. Use the proximity mines and attract his attention to draw the soldier over the mines.

  12. Finish him off with bullet time and the assault rifle. Look for more soldiers in the area and use the shotgun to clean up the rest. Walk past the vending machines and look inside the lit room ahead to find more soldiers.

  13. Use bullet time and the assault rifle to kill the remaining soldiers. Strafe in front of the doorway to shoot and back to the wall for cover. Eventually all the soldiers run into your weapon fire.

  14. BOOSTER: Look in a small office of this room to find a green reflex booster on a desk. (1/4)

  15. Climb up the stairs and shoot the three soldiers at the upper level with the shotgun. Move around the walkway and spot the three Replica soldiers inside the office just ahead. Walk around to the side door and enter to blast each one with the shotgun.

  16. Move through the office and shoot the two men at the upcoming corner. Look inside the small office on the left for another soldier firing at you. Peek around the upcoming corner to shoot an armored shotgun soldier on the left.

  17. TIP: If you are out of explosives, use the shotgun at point blank range on the armored soldier. Point at his head.

  18. BOOSTER: Look in the conference room near the armored soldier to find a blue health booster. (2/4)

  19. Pick up the body armor on the counter and proceed down the dark hall to kill two soldiers charging your position. Walk around the upcoming corner and an armored soldier is shooting from the right. Use the shotgun on all enemies at this point.

  20. Grab the body armor and health before walking through the double doors on the left. Alice Wade is waiting just inside. Give Alice a com-link and use the nearby laptop.

  21. Leave the office with Alice and move through the empty hallways. There are no soldiers until reaching open area with the walkway. Kill the two soldiers from the elevated position and the third that charges your position.

  22. Walk down the stairs and move into the open elevator on the left. Alice activates the elevator and it starts moving up. Arm the assault rifle and be ready for the elevator doors to open up on floors 8, 10, and 12. Soldiers are waiting to ambush your position.

  23. Use the side of the elevator as cover and strafe out to shoot. Free feel to scour the area for body armor and health when each floor is clear. When the doors open on floor 13, move out to investigate.

  24. Move into the security room and watch the creepy little girl advance on Alice. Hit the blue activate panel to unlock a nearby gate and exit to the left. Take the wooden door to a set of stairs and move up to floor 14.

  25. Shoot the soldiers waiting to ambush Alice on 14 and move up the stairs to reach floor 15. Shoot the metal grate in the utility room and exit into the air shaft.

Flight

  1. SITUATION: F.E.A.R. operative was separated from Alice Wade. Her present whereabouts are unknown and she isn't responding on the com-link. Interference is preventing Hannibal-3 satellite recon.

  2. MISSION: Primary objective is to locate Alice Wade and secure HLZ for evac helicopter.

  3. Move out the air shaft and speak to Alice on the opposite side of the glass. After the evac chopper is blown up, wait for en enemy chopper to release soldiers on the roof. The enemy chopper blows open the red double doors when flying away.

  4. Use the cover from the AC units to kill the five incoming soldiers and exit across the rooftop. Climb the stairs on the opposite side and re-enter the building through the glass double doors.

  5. Kill the two soldiers exiting the elevator below with a grenade blast and the two soldiers on the ledge with the assault rifle. Walk downstairs to kill two more soldiers exiting the second elevator. Pick up the ammo in the area and move out the wooden door into the utility tunnel.

  6. BOOSTER: Move through the utility tunnel and down the stairs. Once back inside the office area, look for a room near a locked gate on the right with a blue health booster on the couch. (3/4)

  7. Continue around the empty office and take a right up the stairs near the running photocopier. Look into the hallway on the right and two laser shooting robots fly through the windows. Use the shotgun at close range for the most effective kills.

  8. Move through the halls and look for another robot at the next large window. There is a second robot near the vending machine. From the break room, move out onto the ledge and jump to the next ledge to the right.

  9. Move into the red door on the left and up the ladder. Shoot the two robots outside the door and re-enter the building. Move around the hall and shoot another robot in the conference room.

  10. Turn the corner to find three soldiers repelling from the ceiling. Shoot all three at close range with the shotgun and back up to wait for a fourth descending from the stairs. Move up the stairs to kill two robots.

  11. Look for a wooden door at the top of the stairs and use it to enter a utility staircase. Strafe down the stairs and kill several soldiers at close range with the shotgun. Use bullet time to avoid taking damage.

  12. BOOSTER: When reaching the open door on floor 5, move down another floor and pick up the green reflex booster on the cement floor (4/4)

  13. Move through the open door and be ready for an ambush when the gray metal doors slide open on the left side of the hallway. Pick off the soldiers in the hall using the cover of the nearby wall.

  14. Move along the passage and wait for four soldiers to enter the large room near the vending machines. Use the assault rifle at a distance. Use the laptop in the rear office and hit the power in the supply closet to reactivate the elevator.

  15. Move out into the open room and use the elevator to reach the garage level. Grab the health and body armor before moving out to the garage. Take a right and move up the ramp from G4 to G3.

  16. Look for a group of four soldiers to the left. Use the cover of the structure supports for cover. When moving from G3 to G2, hug the left side and kick into bullet time at the top of the ramp. Use the assault rifle to kill several soldiers patrolling near the truck.

  17. Beware of an armored soldier at the top of the ramp when moving from G2 to G1. There are also two regular soldiers roaming around. Take the red door out of G1 and move up the stairs to evac to the chopper.

Desolation

SITUATION: Alice Wade is going to Auburn to find her father. F.E.A.R. point man and technical office, with Holiday, are going to Auburn by helicopter. Hannibal-3 satellite recon shows Replica forces at Armacham Fettel's signal has been detected.

MISSION: F.E.A.R. point man will secure Alice Wade, then locate Harlen Wade.

CUTSCENE: The team is in the chopper heading for Auburn. The chopper gets hit by a rocket blast and dives into the city. The main character wakes up and is sent to the compound on foot.

Urban Decay

  1. Leave the room and move up the stairs. Bust through the boarded doorway and move up the stairs. Listen for the movement of soldiers just ahead. Look for an armored soldier through the barricade and use the assault rifle to shoot from cover.

  2. Rush the remaining soldiers with the shotgun. Search the area for HV ammo and proceed to the broken floor. Look for another soldier across the hall. Drop through the broken floor and smash the boards on the right side.

  3. Shoot the three soldiers on the right side of the dark room. Use bullet time and shotgun blasts to end the fight quickly.

  4. BOOSTER: Before proceeding, backtrack and take a left up a ramp of furniture. There is a green reflex booster in a small room to the right. (1/4)

  5. Switch to the HV and prepare some mines along the path in the heavily lighted area. A mech soldier shooting laser blasts comes bursting through the ceiling at the far end of the room. Lead him over the mines and use the HV to finish him off.

  6. Exit through the boarded door. Peek out the window to spot two soldiers in the distance on the left. Shoot them with the assault rifle and walk around the corner. Try to shoot the soldiers across the courtyard with the assault rifle as well.

  7. Leap over the broken ledge onto the two boards sticking out and pick up the particle weapon near the chair. Use it to snipe the soldiers in the opposite apartment building and the men on the roof to the left.

  8. Move onto the roof and watch the opposite building for more sniper spawns. Use the cover of the AC units to avoid their blasts. Approach the door on the opposite side of the wall and rush the entrance to kill three soldiers with shotgun blasts.

  9. Move down the hallway and look for four unaware soldiers in a room on the left. Blast each with the shotgun and wait for a fifth soldier to appear outside on the fire escape.

  10. BOOSTER: Turn around to spot a blue health booster in a small bathroom. (2/4)

  11. Exit through the floor of the next room and leave through the red door. Alice Wade is in the distance. Walk around the room to see a psychic vision of Alice's dead body. Continue in the building to enter a second vision.

  12. Just continue walking forward to get through these visions. Eventually a door will pour open and several ghost-like creatures attack. Fire with the assault rifle to stop the vision.

  13. Walk down the hallway and jump out the window into the alley below.

Point of Entry 1

  1. SITUATION: F.E.A.R. point man eliminated Replica forces at the helicopter crash site and is now en route to abandoned Rammelmeier industrial compound. Alice Wade is believed to be captured by Paxton Fettel. She is not responding to com-link.

  2. MISSION: Priority is to secure Alice and Harlan Wade.

  3. Move along the empty alley and look for two soldiers patrolling near a green dumpster. Kill both men and wait by the dumpster for a truck to pull up. Shoot the four soldiers inside the truck from the cover of the dumpster.

  4. Smash open a boarded window to the right of the truck and proceed into the warehouse. Toss a grenade at the back of the truck that crashes into the warehouse on the right. The blast should kill two soldiers hopping out of the back.

  5. Wait for more soldiers to stream into the warehouse. Use the nearby crates for cover and blast them with the assault rifle. Run outside to spot the armored soldier shooting rockets at your position. Go into bullet time and use the HV to kill him.

  6. TIP: Trade out the HV for the rocket launcher, but don't use it yet. Wait until the end of the level.

  7. Grab the body armor and grenades before jumping over the fence on the left at the far end. Turn on the flashlight and look for a doorway to enter on the right to escape a truck barreling down the alley.

  8. Move up the stairs and rush the two soldiers in the next room. Be wary of two more soldiers that jump through a window on the left. Walk back into the alley and use the cover of the crate to kill the four soldiers at the opposite end.

  9. Take a right out of the alley and drop off the ledge. Turn to the corner to overlook a construction site. Walk up the board on the right and crash through the window. Take a stairs up a floor and exit at the door.

  10. Jump off the ledge to the right and start walking down the alley. Be ready to turn around quickly and run back to the safety of the corner when the truck barrels down the alley.

  11. Walk up the small set of stairs and into the door on the left. Pass through the double doors at the end of the hall and crouch into the metal grate.

Point of Entry 2

  1. SITUATION: F.E.A.R. point man eliminated Replica forces at the helicopter crash site and is now en route to abandoned Rammelmeier industrial compound. Alice Wade is believed to be captured by Paxton Fettel. She is not responding to com-link.

  2. MISSION: Priority remains securing Alice and Harlan Wade.

  3. Move through the utility corridor and shoot the explosive yellow barrel to the far right when spotting the soldiers. Fire on the two remaining soldiers at the entrance.

  4. Use the piping on the right side to jump up to the level above you. Turn around to shoot the yellow explosive barrel on the opposite side of the room as two soldiers walk past it.

  5. BOOSTER: Walk to the opposite side of the walkway and leap back down to the second floor landing below. Take a right into the stone passage and watch out for the holes in the floor. Pick up a reflex booster at the end of the tunnel. (3/4)

  6. Backtrack to carefully fall down the hole in the floor and take the ramp down past the black truck. Carefully approach the corner and kill two soldiers waiting to shoot you. Look for an armored soldier just ahead. Use grenades and the shotgun to kill him quickly.

  7. Climb the stairs on the right to kill another armored soldier on the opposite ledge. Shoot the explosive barrel for help and use grenades to weaken him. Continue down the hall to find three more soldiers patrolling the halls.

  8. TIP: Pick up the rocket launcher ammo on the right in this hallway. This will max out the ammo to 30 rounds.

  9. Exit through the red door and head down the stairs. Peek into the bunker to spot the soldier holding a grenade launcher in a room on the left. There is a second soldier to the right. Attract their attention and use grenades to kill both men.

  10. Search the room for ammo and body armor before using the red ladder. Walk through the halls and enter a red door to the left hallway. Pull out the shotgun and prepare for two more invisible leaping soldiers.

  11. Climb the stairs and a third crashes through the window. Back up into a corner to avoid taking damage. Climb another set of stairs and kill a fourth acrobatic soldier on the left. Leave on the opposite side of the room down a set of metal stairs.

  12. Look to the windows to the left and watch the ATC soldiers being shot by mechs. Ready the rocket launcher and move along the ledge into the garage. Run outside and strafe to the left to avoid rocket fire.

  13. Use bullet time to shoot rockets on the first enemy mech soldier. Strafe in circles around him to avoid taking any damage from the rocket blasts. Use the same strategy on the second mech further down the courtyard. Use shotgun blasts if you run out of rocket ammo.

  14. Ditch the rocket launcher and pick up some submachine guns off the dead ATC soldiers. Walk into the building on the left and use bullet time to kill four ATC soldiers in the next room.

  15. Look for a dimly lit blue switch at the end of a white hallway. It unlocks a secret door to the left. Restock up on ammo and proceed out the opposite side of the room. Walk up the stairs in the upcoming dark room. Use the gray door to access another set of stairs.

  16. BOOSTER: Before leaving on the freight elevator, move across the metal walkway on the left to pick up a blue health booster in a small office. (4/4)

  17. Backtrack to the brown elevator and hit the switch. The scene changes to another psychic vision. Swim through the water to the lower level and start walking down another fuzzy hallway.

  18. Upon reaching the delivery room again, the scene shifts to a fiery pit. Look for ghosts to swarm from all directions. The scene shifts back inside the elevator after a few ghosts hit you. Hit the button again to end the level.

Incursion

SITUATION: Replica soldiers and Armacham security forces have entered the facility. ATC's motives are unknown, but hostile. Paxton Fettel is believed to be inside. Alice Wade has not been found.

MISSION: Primary objectives - Secure the Wades and eliminate Fettel.

Lapdog

  1. Walk out of the elevator and hide behind the white box to the left. Look for a firing turret down the hall. Use bullet time and the assault rifle to destroy it. Shoot the padlock on the gate and proceed down the air shaft to grab a couple remote bombs.

  2. Backtrack to the main hallway and move around the corner to shoot another turret. Take a right and hop down the yellow ladder on the right side. Follow the tunnel and climb up another ladder at the dead end.

  3. Move down the hallway and look for three ATC soldiers on the upper ledge. Use bullet time and the assault rifle to kill all three. Take a left at the end of the hall and look on an upper ledge to the left side of the room for another solider.

  4. Shoot the yellow barrels on the upper ledge for quick deaths and proceed toward Mapes. Take a right into a new hallway and peek around the corner to spot four ATC soldiers down the hall. Use the cover of the white crates and kill each man.

  5. Look in the room directly ahead for ammo and grenades. Head towards the servers to kill the fifth ATC soldier and head up the red ladder. Crawl over the metal piping and take a left on the piping. Follow the piping to the dead end and drop to the floor.

  6. You should be on the opposite side of Mapes' window. Climb up the small stairs and listen to Wade's video. Take a right up a double set of stairs and look for three ATC soldiers in the upcoming hallway. Search the upper level for ammo and body armor.

  7. BOOSTER: Move down the hall and take a right into a room with a turret. Blast the turret with the shotgun and pick up the green reflex booster on the operating table. (1/4)

  8. Pick up the body armor and the repeating cannon if needed. Walk out the sliding door and look for another turret in a lab on the left. Rush it with the shotgun and bullet time.

  9. Move out the next sliding door and look for two ATC soldiers in the hall just ahead. Walk past Mapes in the window and head up the stairs to kill another three soldiers on the upper level. Use the yellow explosive barrel to take out a couple right off the bat.

  10. Take a right around the corner and spot the five ATC soldiers in the upcoming room. Shoot the yellow explosive barrel first and kill the rest from the cover at the corner.

  11. Pick up the body armor and ammo before walking downstairs. Look for two more ATC soldiers at the foot of the stairs and three more around the corner. Use the shotgun at close range to kill them quickly.

  12. When the ATC soldiers start shutting the exits, move into the small lab on the left and use the laptop. Take the red ladder down to an access tunnel and shoot the ATC soldier laying mines in the floor.

  13. Crawl through the tunnel and look for a second ATC soldier around the corner to the right. Shoot the padlock on the metal gate and exit into another hallway. Approach the next section cautiously and don't shoot any mines.

  14. BOOSTER: Listen for the room with the clicking sound as well as two mines on the floor. Hug the wall on the right side and move into the passage to the left of the large gray pipe. Climb the ladder to find a blue health booster. (2/4)

  15. Backtrack and be careful not to trigger the mine again. Shoot the two mines at a safe distance and proceed down the hall. Take a right at the corner and shoot the two ATC soldiers behind the large pipe. Crouch for a clear shot.

  16. TIP: If you accidentally shot the mine near the previous booster, there is a red wheel to turn off the gas in the next room.

  17. Take the red ladder back up to the lab level and move directly ahead into a small tunnel. Drop safely to each air shaft and finally to the floor.

Bypass

  1. SITUATION: F.E.A.R. point man has reached the Vault. ATC security forces are resisting. Norton Mapes is inside destroying evidence of Armacham's activities. Harlan Wade is inside. Alice Wade has not been found.

  2. MISSION: Primary goal is still to secure the Wades and to eliminate Paxton Fettel.

  3. Drop into the air shaft and shoot the grate. Harlan and Mapes are viewable through the window and on the TV screen for a closer view. Harlan shoots Mapes in the gut and shuts himself in a large room.

  4. Take a right out of the room and follow the passage to Mapes. Have a short chat with Mapes to learn about restarting the power. Move down the long walkway and use the red ladder on the right side of the hall. Move through the sliding door and take a right to meet four Replica soldiers.

  5. Use bullet time and the shotgun to kill all four clones. Watch out for the heavy repeater shots. Move down the stairs and take the path to the left. Activate the control panel to move the power coupling to another position. Backtrack to the path to the right to activate the second coupling.

  6. Leave through the newly opened double doors and climb the red ladder at the end of the passage. Cross the metal walkway and look to the right for three Replica soldiers. Use a grenade or the shotgun to kill them. Climb the stairs and use the laptop.

  7. BOOSTER: Jump on the crate with the laptop and leap from pipe to pipe. A green health booster is on a barrel at the end of the largest pipe. (3/4)

  8. Continue through the small room and drop off the ledge. Follow the walkway over the hallway with Mapes and into a small office. Pull out the assault rifle and peek outside the door. There are several soldiers on the floor below.

  9. A good strategy for this room is strafing across the walkway to the opposite side over and over. Hide in the small room to regenerate the bullet time and repeat. Use the heavy repeater or the assault rifle for maximum efficiency.

  10. Jump off the walkway near the crates on the left side to avoid taking damage. Look in the center of the room for a set of stairs. Take them down to find more blue panels to activate.

  11. Look for a third panel on an upper ledge to move a crate out of the way. Backtrack to the previous panel and activate it to divert the power. Return to the main room and exit through the newly opened double doors opposite the walkway.

  12. Turn the corner on the right to find three flying robots. Use the shotgun and bullet time to kill each one. Follow the hallway with several windows and look for a grate on the right side. Bust through it to find a room with moving barrels.

  13. Look for a gap in the moving barrels on the right and drop to the room below. Move into the room with the power generator and activate the blue panel on the railing.

  14. BOOSTER: Head down the metal stairs and take a left. The blue health booster is at the dead end on a crate. (4/4)

  15. Move through the hallway and up the red ladder. Look for a second blue panel on the walkway. Activate it and proceed through the double doors on the left. Look for two Replica soldiers at the top of the stairs.

  16. Move down the small lift and back out the main hallway to view a creepy Fettel vision. Take a left towards Mapes and look for three flying robots to blow up. Use the heavy repeater and bullet time.

  17. Use the blue panel at the door ahead and listen to Mapes spit out some last words. Move into the main room and use the blue panel to lower the elevator into the final section of the facility.

Revelation

SITUATION: F.E.A.R. operative has entered the Vault. Norton Mapes wants the facility destroyed due to an unspecified hazard. His motives seem selfish, but caution is recommended.

MISSION: Objective remains to secure the Wades and eliminate Paxton Fettel.

The Vault

  1. The elevator stops in front of a giant rippling ball of energy. Take a right through the door and the scene shifts into a vision of Fettel feasting on Alice Wade.

  2. When the vision changes to a fiery black area, look for the hazy outline of Fettel and shoot him with the pistol. Shoot any ghosts that appear as well. This cycle repeats four times.

  3. When Fettel appears in the cell, shoot him in the head to end his reign of terror. The scene shifts back to the normal world and all the Replica soldiers are now motionless without Fettel's control.

  4. Shoot the soldiers just ahead with the pistol and take the heavy repeater. Use the laptop on the left and proceed down the hallway. Use the lift at the end of the hallway to rise a level.

  5. Wade is working in a control room to the right. He's planning to free the little girl from the energy ball. Watch in the window as Wade dies a gruesome death and continue through the control room.

  6. Move through the control room and enter the black fuzzy haze in the next lab to enter another vision. Shoot the ghosts with the pistol and repeat the process when tossed back into the real world.

  7. BOOSTER: After shooting the ghosts in the real world, move out the lap door and look behind some gray barrels directly ahead. There is a green reflex booster tucked away behind the barrels. (1/1)

  8. Continue along the hall and be ready for another ghost encounter when passing around the windowed wall on the right. Move up the stairs for another ghost encounter. Continue using the pistol to conserve ammo on the other weapons.

  9. Move around the large room with the pulsing energy and up the elevator. Follow the hall around the perimeter of the room and activate the blue panel to raise the protective covers of the energy streams.

  10. Shoot each red power supply at the top of the streams and exit through the door behind you. Move through the blinking red walkway and prepare for another ghost encounter at the intersection.

  11. Follow the linear path for another creepy Alma sighting and take the main elevator out of the facility. Cross the walkway to shoot another five ghosts and hop in the lift marked "2" to exit the area.

Retaliation

SITUATION: The facility's main reactor has gone critical. A chain reaction is imminent.

MISSION: F.E.A.R. operative should attempt to get as far from the facility as possible.

Ground Zero

  1. Rearm yourself in the bunker and exit via the large door. Follow the hallway to the left and use the crate to leap over the flame. Look for a ghost spawn to the right at the corner.

  2. Pass through the storage room slowly and prepare to turn around for two ghost spawns. There is a shotgun sitting near the window if needed.

  3. BOOSTER: The final booster of the game is in this room near the exit. Look behind a row of crates to the left of the exit to find a health booster. (1/1)

  4. Move into the next room and turn around quickly to shoot another series of ghosts. Shoot a second set when the double doors burst open in the next room. Move through the next storage room shooting ghosts on the middle and right paths.

  5. Head up the stairs and be careful of a sneaky ghost spawn in the small hallway to the right. Follow the hall through the boiler room and up another set of stairs. Grab the body armor on the rusting walkway and jump off the ledge.

  6. Arm the heavy repeater and wait for the ghost spawns to crank up. Ghosts fly in all directions in this room. Hang back near the walkway and fire the heavy repeater into the spawn points.

  7. It's safe to move around the room after the wooden boards fly in the air. Pick up the health packs and fall into one of the holes on the right side of the room. Arm the machine gun and proceed cautiously into the first room on the left to kill a couple ghosts.

  8. Move down the second hallway and fire away at eight more ghosts. Turn the corner into the final long hall and start running to the opposite end to trigger a vision.

  9. Walk through the double doors with the fire and shoot freaky teenage Alma just to the left of the door. Move up the stairs on the left and into the second set of double doors. Shoot Alma a second time.

  10. Move down the hall and into another set of double doors. Move to the hallway with the glass double doors and watch Alma rip apart another poor soul.

  11. Turn around quickly and start shooting Alma in the head with the pistol. She is walking in your direction from the opposite end of the hall. Don't get near her or it is instant death.

  12. CUTSCENE: A young version of Harlan Wade takes a baby from a screaming Alma in an operating room. A file for Project Origin is seen on a nearby table as Wade exits the room.

  13. Back in the real world, move down the long hallway directly ahead and use the elevator in the next room. Jump out the window of the building and look to the right to watch the explosion to end the level.

  14. ENDING CUTSCENE: The F.E.A.R. operative wakes up to see a rescue chopper heading to his position. The chopper takes off and the mushroom cloud of the explosion is seen in the distance. Jin and Holiday are talking when the chopper makes a clanking noise. Alma is seen trying to climb into the chopper and the screen goes dark.

  15. POST-CREDITS AUDIO CLIP: The Senator receives another phone call. Genevieve Aristide informs him that the Origin situation has been resolved. She also states that the first prototype was a complete success.

  16. Congratulations, you have just beaten F.E.A.R.!

Achievement Tips

  1. F.E.A.R. doesn't offer a ton of achievement points for simply beating the game. By following the walkthrough, you should have the level achievements and the Explorer achievement already. Here is some advice on the tougher single player achievements:

  2. Ammo Hog: Play on Low difficulty and run past all the soldiers in the game. Feel free to use the punching or kicking ability. Thrown explosives are fair game as well. Use the pistol on padlocks and Alma's head on the final level.

  3. Real Time: Keep the finger away from LB and pick up all the health packs or boosters in the game.

  4. Survivalist: This is the hardest achievement in the game. Play through the game on Low difficulty on the second or third run-through to memorize enemy positions. Scour rooms for health packs and body armor. Use bullet time frequently and make sure to pick up every health booster. Remember to tap the health button any time the meter falls below 60%.

  5. Exterminator: The most commonly missed enemies are snipers in the final levels, two ATC guards across a rooftop in Blindside and turrets. Ghosts also count in this tally, but they typically destroy themselves upon impact.

  6. Fearsome: Don't worry about dying as it happens frequently on extreme difficulty. Use cover positions often and always try for headshots to conserve ammo. Grenades and other explosive are especially useful. Try to allow the enemy to come to you rather than the opposite. (This will also unlock Fearless

  7. No Juice: Avoid all boosters and rely on bullet time to move through levels safely. Use health packs frequently and don't worry about the occasional death.
