Improved AI
In order to make the experience of playing F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin even more realistic than playing the original game, the developers made a number of tweaks to their AI system for enemies.In the first game, enemies already jumped over walls and desks in order to get to the player, but in F.E.A.R. 2 the enemies are even smarter. Enemies will understand and use cover and moving cover, meaning an enemy may pop up from behind cover to throw a grenade and then pop back into cover again. If the enemy is taking cover behind an object that moves, the enemy will move with the object in order to stay in cover.
Certain enemies in F.E.A.R. 2 can also now walk on walls and rails, adding to their creepiness factor.GameTrailers: F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Behind the Scenes: AI

- Head into the double doors into Radiology #201 to find an intel item if you like.
- INTEL ITEM #24: Inside Radiology #201.
- Continue down the hall past Radiology #202. Go into Exam #202 past it, which has a computer used to shut down the X-ray operation. You can now enter Radiology #202
- Use the exit in the back to continue. After the gruesome cutscene, move on into Exam #203.
- Go through Exam #203 to the other side and get to Exam #204. Exam #204 leads out into Reception #205.
- INTEL ITEM #25: Inside Exam #204, near the exit, by a dead lab technician.
- Past reception is a sequence of a doctor being executed. He cannot be saved; instead, let him killed and then when the goon leaves, flank the massive squad ahead by running forward, then towards the door on the right into the lab. You can easily kill almost the entire squad with incendiaries or the napalm cannon. Flush out the stragglers.
- Exit the lab through the back into a decontamination chamber. Wait for it to let you pass and continue. Follow the linear route through the hi-tech rooms. An abomination will ambush you when you near the power generators.
- A pipe will burst after the abominations, shaking the room. You can find a semi-hidden medkit around the corner here.
- INTEL ITEM #26: By a dead lab technician right near where the screen-shaking pipe-burst occurs.
- Continue on. More pipes will burst and then catch flame, blocking your way out. A dead doctor is lying near an elevator; do NOT head to the elevator yet. Go down the nearby stairs to grab a reflex injector.
- REFLEX INJECTOR #3: Lying on the command console past the stairs in the area with the elevator. If you head to the elevator before getting it now, you will miss it.
- When ready, sprint to the elevator call button on the right and keep tapping X until it's called. When it arrives, quickly get in and tap X on the buttons on the left to get it moving. If you're too slow, Beckett will burn.

Interval 03: Recognition
- Get off the elevator asap and go around to take down a squad (watch the sniper above). Grab armor, frags, ammo, and a medkit before heading down the emergency ladder.
- Down the ladder and follow the linear route. The snipers ahead will be killed in a gas explosion. Watch for two ruptured gas lines yourself; wait for first one to subside, then run past it, and for the second just jump over the flames.
- Follow the route down. A firefight will break out at the cargo room below; stay where you first make contact and snipe them all. Go in the door on the right for armor near some generators, and collect the ammo on the crates.
- INTEL ITEM #27: On a crate where the ammo is located.
- Move on and go onto the catwalks, killing the goons. To the right is your first shock grenade on a barrel. Go left to continue.
- Go down the ladder. An APC vehicle will pass; crouch and take out the three goons following it, using the metal plates and wood pallets as cover.
- Go down further and get ready for more thugs coming from the track ahead. Sprint through the malfunctioning blast doors to avoid getting crushed.
- Another firefight in a cargo pile. Ignore the thugs behind the fence and press forward to underneath the catwalks. There's a lever here by the medical injectors to open the gate. You can also just use the ladder to cross the catwalk and flank them from above or the other side.
- Follow the path over the pile of metalwork and drop down to get armor, medkit, and the assault rifle (you'll have to swap a weapon for it; the pistol will be your best choice).
- Run to the APC ahead and beat down the napalm cannon goon that dives out with melee or shotgun. Snipe the rest of the baddies with the assault rifle. Move slowly through this area as more ambushes will occur. There is more armor and assault rifle ammo in this area.
- Climb the ladder in the back and follow the catwalks to another emergency ladder (there's also a medkit and grenades at the end of the catwalks).
- Go down and follow the tunnel to a staircase. There is armor and grenades by the staircase. Do not take the armor unless you need it. Climb the stairs and enter the door.
- Ignore whatever Col. Vanek is saying and drop down and run forward past the cargo. You can intercept the invading platoon and slaughter them with napalm/grenades. Mop up the stragglers. Get the medkit on the center catwalk using the ladder. If you need the armor you passed up, return to it using another ladder by where you dropped down.
- Continue on; a pipe will burst, and you will need to stop the flames. Go right and hug the right-hand wall into a supply room with armor (watch for armored goons)
- INTEL ITEM #28: By the armor in the supply room.
- Continue your way through the supply room to clear it out. There's more armor, grenades and medical injectors. When you exit, you should see a bright red valve handle nearby. Turn it with the X button.
- Shutting off the flame will send another squad your way; take them out in the tunnel and climb the ladder the flame was obstructing.
- Follow the catwalk up for armor and health. In the office ahead, an explosion will force you to go to the left around some flames. Crawl under any obstacles and hurry out the door.
- Move forward quickly and a cutscene will eventually end the level.

"And she wants to consume you."
- Have the shotgun ready at all times for this level. Search the murky waters for a ladder and climb up. Follow the linear route to a new area: a secret facility.
- Go right and enter the waste area with the gore inside it, and search it for a medkit
- INTEL ITEM #29: Next to a dead lab technician in the waste area.
- Continue down the main corridor. Alma herself will assault you; if this happens, mash B to survive. Follow the linear route to a door with a green light, into a command center.
- Crawl through the smashed door at the back of the command center. Follow the linear route to a fork and a staircase. Go down the stairs to get your first proximity mine and some medical injectors, then take the right-hand path.
- Climb over the rubble and continue down some stairs. Go right and interact with the red PC monitor to open the chamber doors. Go back up the stairs and drop into the area with the chamber doors using the smashed window.
- Entering the middle chamber will spawn an abomination. Continue forward and follow the linear route. Do not brave the gas main fire, instead, enter the chamber with the restrained abomination. Two more will ambush you here, and a third will appear if you shoot the restrained one.
- Continue up the steps to a metal dais across from the restrained abomination. There are double doors here that lead to a red valve handle that shuts down the flame you avoided.
- REFLEX INJECTOR #4: Enter the double doors and turn the red valve handle. The flame you passed will be stopped; enter the supply closet it was blocking for the item.
- Continue on to a control center with a medkit. Exit via the green sliding doors.
- INTEL ITEM #30: In the control center, by the medkit.
- Next area has a small cargo bay with lots of replicas and some armor. Kill them all and take the stairs.
- At the bottom, there's armor and more replicas, a lot of them "backspawning". Keep a sharp eye out and use the fuel canisters to get rid of them. Follow the tunnel to the end.
- A section of the structure ahead will collapse, but you can still reach the medical injectors it was giving access to by following the small path behind the forklift. Continue to the right.
- Drop down and take out another replica, then go up the ladder to a medical bay. Watch out for more replicas.
- INTEL ITEM #31: Just inside the medical bay.
- Search for armor and shotgun ammo, then exit the medical bay through the back door. Search for an elevator and use it.
- Exit the elevator and look for a door in the fencing to the right to get more shotgun ammo and armor. Continue forward into an arena.
- After the cutscene, goons will start popping out of pods that rise up from the ground for a series of ambushes. A good camping point is the wooden structure right by the command room Col. Vanek is speaking from. You can easily neutralize the first two waves by just shotgunning them as they exit the pods; kill the rest with the assault rifle from your guard point. Take the armor and medkit on the white car wreck if you need it.
- After killing them all, one of the pod holes will stay open. Drop down into it. Immediately get ready to take on troops to the right. Look for armor, medical injectors and an automatic shotgun amongst the spoils; if you are running low on napalm, dump it for the automatic shotgun.
- Search for a ladder at the end and climb up. Kill more goons along the linear route and grab some armor on a workbench on the way.
- Follow the linear route to another big ambush. Use the assault rifle as these guys have auto shotguns. Drop down the ladder ahead for a medkit, then shoot the fuel drums nearby to blast open a duct containing proximity mines.
- Go back up and go left. Use the X button to move a plastic crate blocking a door, and get a medkit inside. Continue on to a lab.
- Goons will be engaging replicas in the lab. While they are distracted, blast your way forward from the lab entrance to a ladder ahead. There's armor here, and you can pick off the rest of the squad.
- INTEL ITEM #32: Lying right next to the armor by the ladder in the lab.
- Exit the lab through the back and follow the pipe tunnels (watch out for a replica) while goons continue to battle. Climb the stairs and continue.
- In the massive cargo bay, take down everyone from the entrance with the assault rifle, then press along to the right to continue flushing everyone out. There is armor by the flatbed. There's also a big ammo cache with more armor to the left; shoot the padlock off of the locked gate to reach it.
- When finished, climb the stairs on the far left and go into the duct near the now-closed gate to continue.
- In the next cargo bay, kill as many as you can from your vantage point before dropping down.
- Drop down from the broken ladder and dive into the office door right next to you for armor and a load of ammo.
- INTEL ITEM #33: Next to the supplies in the office by the broken ladder.
- There is a TON of armor, medkits, shock grenades, and ammo throughout this cargo bay. Take note of it and when ready, use the console for the hydraulic lift. The lift will not start, but this will unlock valve handles for you to use (denoted by red lights).
- Run to the nearest valve handle and turn it. This triggers a massive ambush, so retreat to a safe area and start clearing out all the goons. Return to the valve handle and turn it.
- Look for a second valve near a gate marked "H". Plant all the proximity mines by the gate before using the valve handle. A Powered Armor Unit will appear from the gate and take massive damage from the mines. To finish it off, cook shock grenades and time your throw so that they detonate near it. While it is stunned, pound on it with the automatic shotgun or frags. Repeat until it's dead.
- Find the third valve handle and use it to activate the lift. Ride it out of the level.
