Farrah Fawcett

  • Farrah Fawcett was an American actress who has appeared in several television shows and films including The Six Million Dollar Man and Charlie's Angels. Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in late 2006. After months of chemotherapy, Fawcett announced that she was free of the disease in February 2007. However, the cancer returned a few months later. She chronicled her struggle with the disease in a documentary titled Farrah's Story.

    In mid-June of 2009, Fawcett was expected to be released from the hospital where she was receiving treatment but instead took a turn for the worse. On June 24, 2009, Fawcett's family gathered to say their final goodbyes as her health declined.     On May 7, 2009, People magazine published an exclusive interview with Fawcett's long-time companion, Ryan O'Neal. O'Neal discussed Fawcett's terminal cancer for the first time and told the magazine, that due to her illness, Fawcett has lost her iconic hair. O'Neal said, "Her famous hair. I have it at home. She didn't care. I rub her head. It's kind of fun, actually, this great, tiny little head. How she carried all that hair I'll never know.     On April 28, 2009, Radar Online reported that Fawcett's health had taken a turn for the worse. Her son, Redmond O'Neal, was granted leave from jail to spend a few hours with her on April 25, 2009. In early December 2008, former UCLA Medical Center employee, Lawanda Jackson, pleaded guilty to violating medical privacy laws. Jackson was said to have sold Fawcett's medical information to the magazine for approximately $4,600.
