Players of the popular FarmVille social game on Facebook could gift baby elephants to their friends for a limited time starting on Tuesday, September 29, 2009. According to an announcement on the FarmVille Facebook page, the baby elephants were only available for 48 hours and would be gone "when the circus rolls outta town."http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=102452128776 Farmville frequently offers such "rare" animals for a period of a few days or weeks.
Other Farmille Animal Offerings
The Farmville baby elephant isn't the only animal offered through the game. In November of 2009, Farmille introduced the baby turkey - just in time for the Thanksgiving holidays. Baby turkeys could be purchased in the Farmville market. Over a period of days, the baby turkeys "grew up" to become full-fledged adult turkeys that could be sold for 125 Farmville coins. Wild turkeys were also available for adoption. Other animals available in the Farmville Market in November/December of 2009 included orange tabby cats ($9 Farmville dollars), and brown, black or golden chickens (price range: $7 to $25 Farmville dollars).
In February of 2010, Farmville introduced new horse stables. Users could gift stable construction items such as bricks and harnesses to help friends build their stables. Players could also get materials by purchasing them in the Farmville Market.http://www.inquisitr.com/60420/farmville-adds-horse-stables-your-facebook-feed-about-to-get-more-cluttered/
