Fark is a community website allowing users to submit and comment on news articles and interesting topics from various websites. The website was founded by Drew Curtis in 1999.

Drew Curtis is the founder of Fark and author of It's Not News, It's FARK: How Mass Media Tries to Pass off Crap as News. He registered the Fark.com domain in 1997 although didn't start posting news stories until 1999. The site quickly become a popular link dump for sites on the Internet. Fark was one of the first independent blogs to earn one million dollars in yearly profit. Business 2.0: Blogging for Dollars Despite Fark's success, Curtis only takes a $60,000 yearly salary.
