Far Cry Instincts is a first-person shooter created by Ubisoft for the original Xbox console. It is a remake of the original Far Cry for the PC. While Far Cry Instincts has less exploration than the PC original, it comes with new weapons and "feral abilities", superpowers you can unlock for main character Jack Carver.

Weapons and Traps
Pistol Weapons
- Pistol: The basic pistol. It does decent damage and has decent accuracy.
- Silenced Pistol: One of the best pistols in the game as it is the only silenced one. Very important in the early levels.
- Magnum: It's fairly powerful for a pistol, however, by the end of the game (where it is found) the enemies are too numerous and their firepower too superior.
- Machine Pistol: It's a pistol with semi-auto firepower. Fun, but ammo is rare and it is not better than your automatic weapons.
Automatic Weapons
- MP5: Very effective throughout the whole game. Fast, accurate, and has a decent ammo cap.
- M4: Accurate assault rifle armed with a scope. Extremely lethal, however, it has a low ammo cap and cannot be dual wielded.
- P90: Incredible accuracy and firing rate. Devastating when dual-wielded. Also has a massive ammo capacity.
- Shotgun: This counts as an automatic weapon. It does huge damage if you hit a target with this, dropping almost everything in the game with one shot. Very useful, however, the shells must be individually loaded.
- AR-15: The best automatic weapon. While it does not have a scope, it has an improved fine aim, as well as extremely quick and powerful. Also, if you press LT while holding one, and have grenades in your inventory, you will fire them from the AR-15's grenade launcher. This is extremely effective.
Heavy Weapons
- Sniper Rifle: Basic sniper rifle, extremely lethal, has a high zoom range. It's also silenced.
- Tactical Precision Rifle: A somewhat upgrade to the sniper rifle. While it's not silenced, it does do more damage and is easier to aim.
- Rocket Launcher: Standard rocket launcher, fires a single dumb rocket.
- Light Machine Gun: Poor accuracy and terrible reload time, but it does big damage and has a sizable clip.
Traps
- Grenades: Throw these into enemy groups to blow them up. Grenades cannot be cooked in this game, so just toss them into a crowd and try to keep them from separating.
- Spiked Branch: Press RB to enter trap mode, then stand near a tree so that the "branch symbol" becomes opaque. When that happens, hold RT. A Spiked Branch trap will be set, killing anything that wanders within range. Jack has an unlimited amount of these.
- Claymore: Press RB to enter trap mode, then aim towards the ground. Hold RT to set and arm a claymore. These explode whenever anything wanders into range. These require "ammo" to be used.
- Rocks: You can hurl these by pressing LT. While they do not do damage, they are good for luring enemies over to you.
Items
- Small Medkit: Restores 25 health points (maximum 100)
- Large Medkit: Restores 100 health points (maximum 100)
- Small Body Armor: Adds 50 points to your armor rating (maximum 150)
- Large Body Armor: Adds 100 points to your armor rating (maximum 150)
- MREs: Eat these rations to restore 100 Adrenaline points (maximum 100)
- Binoculars: Allows you to use Binocular Mode by pressing Up on the D-pad. Binoculars are good for recon and spying on enemy conversations.
Far Cry Instincts Feral Abilities
You will unlock these Feral Abilities throughout the game (the game will inform you when they are unlocked). Feral Abilities use Adrenaline, which you must replenish by eating MREs, or taking damage, or staying undetected within the presence of an enemy.

Feral Attack
One of the most important abilities. Aim your targeting reticule at an enemy until you see "claw marks" appearing by your reticule. When you see the claw marks, press B. Jack will charge towards the enemy and shred them for an instant kill. Extremely useful for killing enemies in a hurry, saving ammo, and important against the final boss.
Feral Body
Allows you to regenerate your health after taking damage, but only if Jack can go several seconds without taking any more damage first. Very useful.
Feral Sense
Hold Y to enter Scent Mode. It allows you to "see" enemy scents, allow you to track them. Later on, Feral Sense is upgraded to allow you to simply "see" the enemies themselves, no matter where they are. Excellent for fighting enemies in jungles and dark places.
Feral Sight
Once unlocked, Scent Mode becomes upgraded to allow you to see in the dark. Useful for fighting in dark places, obviously (especially when finding items hidden in the dark).
Feral Speed
Another important one. Tap Y to toggle Feral Speed on/off. It allows you to run at super speeds, invaluable for dodging rockets and gunfire as well as using Feral Attacks safely. Later on, Feral Speed is upgraded to allow you to make long jumps by holding down the A button while in Feral Speed mode and releasing it, flinging you over long gaps. The end levels pretty much require that you master Feral Speed in order to beat them.

TRAINING
Start
- After the cutscene where the boat blows up, swim straight ahead to the beach.
- At the beach, run to the right and enter the shipwreck.
- Kick the barrel out of the way as instructed, then climb the ladder.
- Follow the catwalk to where it has collapsed and drop down. Enter the door here.
- Grab the medkit, then crouch underneath the wreckage.
- Go prone underneath the shutter beyond, then go right and follow the path to the first savepoint.
Savepoint #1
- Dive into the lagoon outside the shipwreck.
- Swim directly to the other side and climb up the vines before you are shot.
- Sneak up to the thug ahead and get behind him. This opens the "Backstab" contextual action, which allows you to take him out with a stab in the back.
- Continue on the jungle path to encounter another thug. You can backstab him as well if you like, but it's best to practice making traps. Hold RB to ready a branch trap and approach the tree with the blue aura. When the branch trap becomes opaque and you are prompted to do so, press RT; this sets up the branch trap. Now throw a rock with LT to get his attention; he'll be smacked by the trap when he wanders over.
- Either way, kill the thug and grab his pistol, then continue on the jungle path. There will be another thug ahead; kill him to wield two pistols.
- Ahead along the path is a hut. You can go prone and crawl underneath to shoot the soldier inside through the floorboards. Either way, kill him and continue.
Savepoint #2
- Drop down the hill ahead leftward and backstab the guard by the radio.
- Use the canoe to jump onto the crates, then onto the hut walkway with the headset.
- Before leaving, go inside the hut to grab a silenced pistol. Now go onto the docks to end this level.
BEACH
Start
- Go right and shoot/backstab the first goon. Do NOT swim into the ocean or you will eventually be shot apart by enemy choppers.
- Go along the beach and backstab the next goon by the campsite.
- Hug the lefthand jungle as you move along. Two thugs will come down the beach; get behind them and shoot them both.
- Continue onward and the path will curve away from the beach, up the hill.
Savepoint #1
- There will be three goons at the junction ahead. It's not a bad idea to simply go prone and headshot them all; it won't alert other guards.
- Go right at the junction and raid the hut for health and binoculars.
- Get the attention of the boat crew and kill them when they beach. Use the turret on the boat to wipe out the rest of the three goons patrolling the beach. Do not board out to sea or you will be gunned down by choppers.
- Sneak up to the next hut, shoot the thug through the floorboards, then head up to the next savepoint.
Savepoint #2
- The chopper here will immiedately leave, dropping off four thugs armed with MP5 semi-autos. Go left asap and get behind the two crates.
- Set up a branch trap behind the crates, and then throw rocks from the grass towards the trap until at least one guard is killed by it. Headshot his friends as they come up to investigate. Collect their MP5s.
- Go into the tent and raid it for supplies, then go down the path and machine gun the two goons here.
- Climb up the vines by the waterfall and follow it to a ravine. Get behind the big log and throw a rock over the side to get the attention of the three goons below. Push/kick the log down the hill to wipe them all out.
- Dive into the river and swim upstream. It will work as excellent cover for you to take out the two guards ahead. Continue on.
Savepoint #3
- As soon as Savepont #3 starts, keep in the water so you aren't surprised by two thugs near the overturned canoe. Kill them.
- Ahead are two more thugs patrolling the river. Pop out of the water and shoot them both.
- Downstream are three more thugs. The second thug is actually on a treehouse; pop the first thug from the water, then veer right and climb up the ladder to raid the treehouse, killing the guard and stealing his MP5 ammo and grenades.
- From the treehouse, shoot anyone else still alive, then get back in the water and swim onward.
- Don't go downstream to the encampment. Instead, veer left and hit the two goons with MP5s by the fuel depot. If you are made, shoot the fuel drums to blow them up, then assault the camp.
- Follow the stream to an enemy base.
Savepoint #4
- Break down the grate and crawl through the pipe.
- At the other side, run to the right-hand corner of the building ahead. Wait for a thug to come out the back door to take a leak. Kill him.
- Capture the first building by backstabbing the thug on the bottom floor, then carefully going up and executing the two men upstairs. The first one likes to dodge roll out of your shots. Collect the armor and ammo.
- Go to the second building across and capture it with the MP5. By this time, the alarm will sound, causing enemies to spawn endlessly.
- Head to the hanger, capture it, then steal the humvee. Drive it towards the objective marker, smashing through the gated fence out of the area.
Savepoint #5
- This will be a linear drive through the jungle. Run over all in your way.
- At the fork, veer right and capture the hut on the side of the road. Raid it for grenades. There's a second humvee here if you wish to trade in your first humvee (should it be very damaged).
- Continue on and plow through the first ambush. Grab another humvee here if you need it.
- Continue on to a roadblock. The enemies will toss crates in the road; dodge them and drive through. Use the turret to fend them off if you crash. Watch out for enemy humvees.
- Go onward to an enemy camp. Use the ramps (made of wood palletes) to jump over the enemies and drive out. Another humvee here if you need it.
- Ahead the heli above will blow up a bridge; jump over the broken bridge "ramp" to survive. By this point you will have noticed that you are in fact driving away from the objective; don't worry about it.
- Finally, you will be stopped by a log pile. Kill the mercs and exit your vehicle, jumping over the logs.
Savepoint #6
- Crouch and silence-snipe the goon with his back turned, waiting first for another buddy of his to walk behind him so you can nail them both. Then crawl underneath the floorboards of the hut and take out the thug inside.
- Next, shoot the drum barrel by the fuel tank on the hilltop where the second hut sits. It will blow up, killing one or two soldiers and a third one when the radio tower collapses on the hut. Mop up any survivors.
- Steal the parked humvee and drive down the path.
- Drive along the linear path, killing all the mercs and humvee drivers in your way.
- At the end of the line, you will drive along another bridge, only for the heli above to wreck it, sending your humvee down into a chasm.
NATIVE
Start
- Past the pond, there will be five guys patrolling the road ahead. Bushwhack them from the foliage on the sides. The first goon will travel to the pond; you can kill him there and work your way forward.
- Hug the right-hand jungle edges as you travel up the road. You should find a set of vines you can climb.
- Climb up the vines all the way to the top of the hill here for a Savepoint.
Savepoint #1
- Use the fallen tree to climb over the fence. After you drop over, immediately head right.
- Crawl underneath the floorboards of the hut ahead and pop the goon inside. Wait for his friends to come investigate and kill them.
- The final goon is in the watch tower, armed with a sniper rifle. Sneak over to the tower, climb it, and waste him.
- Drop down and continue on. Crawl underneath the shack on the right and kill all the troops from there as before.
- Once they are all dead, enter the shack opposite and kick down the crates, revealing a hole you can drop down out of to get behind the wooden gate.
- There's another village ahead. Crawl underneath the first building and snipe the man through the floorboards in the groin. Then turn around and snipe all four the panicking soldiers before they can figure out what's going on.
- The building you sniped from underneath has another sniper rifle. Collect any other supplies and continue.
- Enter the building near the locked wooden gate, and as before, go to the second floor and jump out from the window.
Savepoint #2
- Head right and blow away the man in the hut from underneath the floorboards, then snipe the goon to your right and another one outside.
- Head to the hut ahead as most likely guards will be alerted. Climb the sniper's tower from there and take him out.
- Snipe everyone else still alive from the tower, then proceed down the path.
- Another building at the fork ahead. Waste the two guards, then turn left and snipe the guard manning the machine gun by the gate to the armory.
- Go towards the hut on the right and waste the guy inside from underneath the floorboards.
- Pop any guys in your way to the sniper's tower from here. Capture the tower, then use it to clear the area.
- Go around the back of the armory, kill the goon here and break the window in the back to climb into a room with body armor. Go back outside.
- Find a side window and smash it open, then climb through it into the armory.
Savepoint #3
- Grab the supplies and the C4, then set the C4 on the blue marker using the contextual action prompt.
- Get out of the building before it blows, then when it does, go out the other gate.
- Stay off the road and jump the two goons on the ATVs coming along with your MP5.
- Snipe two more goons down the road, then get on an ATV and drive along the road till you hit a cutscene.
Savepoint #4
- Go into the foliage ahead and snipe all the guards in the dockside village. Then head into it.
- The music will pick up, and guards will start spawning endlessly, whether or not you were stealthy. They can throw grenades at you and really cause trouble. Fight your way through them to the otherside and head into the lefthand jungle.
- Four troops will come towards you by the overturned canoe. Flank them apart with the MP5 or grenades, and continue.
Savepoint #5
- Another dockside village ahead. Snipe everyone you see, then storm it. The central hut has a sniper rifle.
- On the other side, the spawning will stop, however, a boat with two goons will come in from the ocean. Snipe its crew, and continue onward.
Savepoint #6
- Stay on the left-hand side of the road and bushwhack the soldier coming up it. At the fork, more will come to investigate the first kill; take them out easily.
- There will be a final soldier down the path towards the objective. Jump him, then continue a command center you must infiltrate.
Savepoint #7
- Easiest thing to do is, from the Savepoint, go left and hug the mountain side, until you are further past the guard post with the two chatty mercs. Get the sniper rifle out and shoot the soldier inside the base by the machine gun.
- Next, get behind the guard post and wait for one of the chatty guards to walk past you towards the gate. Backstab him, then turn around and snipe the guard he was talking to earlier, by the machine gun nest.
- To the left of the other chatty guard is another one by the stairwell. Backstab him, then enter the base's first floor for supplies.
- Go to the second floor and explore it. Your objective is up top, in a room with two dead bodies; throw the gate switch.
Savepoint #8
- After throwing the switch, a goon will barge in from a closet, while more thugs outside raid the base from a newly-opened gate. Kill them all and leave through that gate. Don't forget the body armor in the closet.
Savepoint #9
- The chopper that swings into the next village will always be alerted to you, regardless of stealth. Just shoot down the gunner riding shotgun, then clear out the rest of the village.
- Next, stay leftward and look for two tall crates you can hopscotch across to a secret area with some body armor. It's a good vantage point use as well in taking the two thugs ahead.
- Go right and fight your way through the village all the way until the path ends into a rice paddy field.
- There will be bad guys everywhere in the field, including those rappelling from the chopper. Charge through the paddies to the building ahead and jump the three goons guarding the artillery gun with dual MP5s or grenades. Then use it to blow up all the enemies still alive in the rice paddies as well as anything else that moves. Continue onward.
- There's a set of vines past the building. Scale them upward.
Savepoint #10
- Kill the sniper dead ahead, then snipe all the soldiers until Val can escape. There's plenty of sniper ammo if you need it. Just make sure to shoot fast, and do not fall into the water, otherwise, Val dies and you must reload.
- Once you've sniped all the soldiers, a cutscene takes place and the level ends.
RAINFOREST
Start
- Climb into the big rig and grab the supplies. Continue on.
- You'll see a demo of one of your new abilities: Scent Mode. Use it to follow a scent to a corpse. Continue on.
- Crawl underneath a log to be attacked by some strange mutant creatures. Shoot the mutants with the MP5.
- Ahead is a camp that has been ravaged by the mutants. Thin them out with grenades and continue onward.
- Another camp, swarming with mutants. Grenades and MP5 will work. Collect the goodies, then climb the vines by the corpse with the road flare.
- A cutscene will occur once you grab the blue marker up top. After the cutscene, grab the shotgun if you like, then continue
Savepoint #1
- Ahead are two chatty guards at the bottom of a stream. If you have rockets or sniper ammo, wipe them out.
- The stream is loaded with enemies, including shotgunners and a sniper on a treehouse. Blast the sniper with sniper rifle/rocket launcher, then thin the grunts out with grenades, snipes, and rockets until you've won.
- Move onward to see the stream blocked off by logs. Snipe as many thugs as you can from behind the logs before going left around the logs.
Savepoint #2
- Raid this base camp behind the logs before proceeding downstream.
- There will be some goons downstream, including two sniper in trees. Take them out and continue.
- Past the snipers are a mob of soldiers guarding the river's end. They are easily sniped from cover. Kill them and climb the vines to the right of their position, up the rocks.
Savepoint #3
- From the heli wreck, snipe the guard on the rope bridge, then go around the plateau and kill the guards by the road flare.
- Cross the rope bridge to the other side.
Savepoint #4
- There will be a bunker ahead. Go prone and bushwhack the chatty guards, then blast everyone that tries to search you out.
- Take the outside bunker, then head on in into the tunnels below.
Savepoint #5
- Go along the linear route, blasting everyone in your path. If you have to retreat, set claymores to throw the enemy off. The tunnels marked "DANGER" are dead-ends, but do have supplies in them.
- The path ends into a spooky, foggy stream.
Savepoint #6
- This foggy stream is filled with mutants. Blast everything in your way and if you see a mob of them, set a claymore or use a grenade.
- The fog leads to a series of vines, climb them. Ahead is a massive military base ruin.
Savepoint #7
- This base is heavily guarded. The best thing to do is to go right when you reach the base, up the nearby steps, and down the tunnel to a courtyard with an opposing tunnel. Shotgun everything that tries to take either tunnel. They will drop more than enough ammo to down the heli above. If you are desperate, there is a rocket launcher above the steps ahead, to the right.
- Look around past the rocket launcher for a steel door with a lamp near it. Two guards will storm out; waste them and enter through the door.
- Follow the linear path down to the electrical room. The shotgun will handle everything. Open the sliding door in the electrical room.
- Follow the path down to two chatty guards on the left. Waste them, then get a third one coming out behind you. Crawl through the busted door for armor before continuing on the main path.
- The path leads further down into a generator room. Waste the guy on the catwalk, then the men below. Take the exit on the opposite.
- The path leads down several steps to the generator proper. Kill the two goons guarding it and throw the switch. Now the lights are out.
Savepoint #8
- Go back to the generator room from before and waste the guards here. Don't be afraid to shoot the generators and make them explode, killing all nearby. Once they are dead, climb the ladder onto the catwalk and exit through the now-open portal.
- Bust down the gate past the portal for some body armor, then continue.
- The guys in the next tunnel are grenade-happy. Answer with your own grenades, then go around the bend and waste the guard behind the table.
- Crawl underneath the gate into an elevator shaft. Go left up the stairs and bash down the fence.
- You need to climb down the ladder in the shaft here. To do so without falling, walk FORWARD off the ladder, not backwards or strafing. Jack should stick to the ladder and head straight down.
- Kill the guards in the stopped elevator, then break the grate. Do not fall through the grate on the floor of the elevator from its roof or you will die from the fall.
- Once safely inside the elevator, break the grate on the floor and drop down to the bottom of the shaft.
- Follow the linear path. Along the way there's a supply closet you can break into with armor and ammo.
- At the end of the path, kill the thug talking on the laptop and take the PDA.
Savepoint #9
- Now you must follow the linear path out of the bunker. Just basically head to the enemies marked on your map. They are easy prey to the shotgun and grenades.
- After battling through all the enemies, you hit a dead-end with crates and wall-mounted pipes. Use the pipes to climb into a duct.
- The duct leads to another section of the base. There's armor hidden behind the fencing, otherwise, continue.
Savepoint #10
- You'll end up in a room with a downed aircraft. Approach the wreckage for a cutscene and a big battle.
- First, take out the two elites that attack you. Then get on the machine gun turret and blast all the goons to the right and one above the catwalk.
- Once the action dies down, set some claymores by the door that's being cut open, then hole up in the supply closet with the medkit and claymore ammo. Take them all down from there.
- Afterward, exit through the opened door and head along the jungle path. Set some claymores if enemies spawn from behind and shoot all in your way from the front.
- The path ends into a mineshaft with a lift. Throw the lever to bring the lift up, then enter it and throw the switch to ride downward.
MINES
Start
- Wait for two thugs to come down the mine shaft stairs and waste them.
- Punch your way through any rotting planks blocking your path and follow the spiral wood ramps to the top.
- Clear out your foes in the tunnels ahead as you press your way forward into an open chamber.
- Take out the goons below with grenades and gunfire, then hop along the scaffolds to some body armor. Afterward, drop down.
- Battle your way through the next tunnel to another open area. Shoot all in your way. Take the only other exit out.
Savepoint #1
- Follow the path and blow away everyone you see until you come to a large shaft.
- Watch out for backspawners from behind as you fight your way around the central shaft to another exit.
- Keep blasting all in your way and the area will eventually go dark. You can use Scent Mode to see in the dark if you like.
- In the next area, kill the two chatty guards to the left, then any other thugs that come from the tunnel you came from.
- Go forward and shoot the fuel barrel underneath the wood catwalk. It will collapse, creating a ramp that you can use to climb up.
- Follow the tracks to some thugs guarding a landing. Kill them, then kill the two guns sniping from a rafter.
- Enter the tunnel ahead into the next area.
Savepoint #2
- Mercs will be constantly spawning out of doors on the catwalks in this power room, so watch out (don't forget you can shoot through the catwalk grates).
- First, go to the two fuel valve handles (the ones with the smoke pouring out).
- Next, throw the lever in front of the lift.
- Finally, go to the generator in the center and throw the switch. This will unleash a mob of enemies coming from the entrance.
- Head to the lift and take cover behind the crate in front of the lift. Fight off anyone that attacks you and ride the lift down into the next area.
Savepoint #3
- Use the switch box to open the gate and continue.
- Go left and take out the two goons to get two P90's.
- Climb onto the wrecked track and follow it to an overturned cart. Jump on the cart into the tunnel above.
- In the next area, get the drop on the chatty mercs with a grenade, then kill the survivors.
- Find the tunnel into the next area.
Savepoint #4
- Veer right as you kill all in your way and get the body armor underneath the ramp leading up.
- Take the ramp up and keep killing as you keep veering right into another tunnel.
- The tunnel leads to a long cart track. Make sure to blast any enemies spawning from behind and head to underneath the platform ahead, shooting the thug through it.
- Take the nearby tunnel from the platform into another area. An earthquake will collapse the tunnel behind you, killing all on your trail.
- In the vast cave ahead, get behind a mine cart and snipe the three goons to the right with the sniper rifle/silenced pistol.
- Watch out for two shooters on the catwalks above and take them out, then take out the mob ahead. Enter the tunnel they were guarding.
- A tunnel ahead will collapse, taking out a guard. Continue past the calamity.
Savepoint #5
- Go right and take out the trio of chatty mercs with a throw/shoot grenade combo, then the shooters on the other side of the gap.
- Go back and drop down onto the ledge with the MREs, then onto the track. Make a dangerous jump from this track to where the two shooters were from before.
- Follow the track from the shooters to another area. A cave-in will block your route, so jump to the ledge with the MRE.
- Keep following the path of wood platforms, hopping over gaps. There are baddies below, but you can ignore them; they'll be too busy fighting off mutants.
- The path will curve around to an exit tunnel with a pile of corpses sitting in front of it. Kill any mutants in your way and enter the tunnel.
- The next cave will have a brief cave-in. Use the rubble to climb upward to a cliff; follow it to another tunnel.
Savepoint #6
- Blast your way through the goons to a tunnel ahead. These goons have tough body armor and will require either headshots or Feral Attacks to kill quickly.
- The path ends into a cave with a deep hole. You must quickly use the ring of ledges to jump to the tunnel on the other side. Some of the ledges will collapse, so move fast.
- In the next tunnel, blast everything in your way into another cavern.
Savepoint #7
- There will be loads of mutants and some shooters above. Kill them all.
- After killing them, grab the C4 by the shotgun and plant it on the rock with the red symbol. It will explode and create a path upwards.
- Follow the path into the next area.
Savepoint #8
- Don't shoot any fuel drums here, you'll need them later. Follow the path till it drops down to a ledge below.
- Cross the narrow beam to the island in the center. You'll be ambushed from two sides. Shoot the fuel drums to get rid of your attackers.
- Cross to the other side using the pair of beams. Head into the nearby tunnel.
- Don't fall down into the ravine in the next room. Instead, walk all the way into the back and look for a tunnel leading up.
Savepoint #9
- Follow the path to a dead-end with two thugs. Kill them.
- Go back a bit and you should see a cable running across the gap. Jump into the cable; Jack will use it as a zip line and start sliding along to the other side.
- Shoot the fuel barrels below and any other thugs as you zip across. You'll eventually reach the other side and end the mission.
CLIFF
Start
- Blow away the goons outside the mine entrance and follow the cliffside downward.
- Kill the ATV driver and steal his vehicle. Drive his machine back up the cliff right-ward
- Atop, kill the three guards by the zipline, then ride it.
- Kill the two goons guarding the other end of the zipline, then use the hang glider.
Savepoint #1
- Guide the hang glider onto the ledge ahead to land safely, then jump down into the water below. Or just let go of the hang glider in mid-air and land in the water.
- Kill the goon by the docks nearby and steal his motor boat.
- Drive the motor boat dead ahead, through the narrow gap in the mountainsides.
Savepoint #2
- Beach at the first opportunity. Kill the two thugs here and steal their gunboat.
- In the gunboat, keep following the river. Anytime you see a docked motor boat, stop and shoot down all the mercs nearby with the gunboat's turret.
Savepoint #3
- The river ends into a dock. Waste all you see with the turret, then dock and go up the trail.
- As you progress, your screen will flash white repeatedly. Try to ignore it and keep shooting everything in your way with the MP5. Do NOT take the hang glider by the road flare; ignore it and keep going up the mountain.
- The mountain trail eventually leads to a fortress with a transmitter on top. Shoot the guards up top and climb upwards to the center of it.
- Climb the ladder to the top, kill the guards and when prompted, smash the transmitter with Feral Attacks. It will be destroyed and the strange vision effects will finally stop.
- Go through the nearby open door and follow it out to the other side. Follow the trail.
Savepoint #4
- Kill the three goons ahead. A helicopter will attack; you can kill the gunner if you like, otherwise, ignore it.
- Cross the bridge and Jack will automatically perform a superhuman leap, demonstrating "Feral Speed".
- This next area serves as a training session for Feral Speed. You select it by pressing Y until a little image of a flexing man appears, then hold A for at least a second, then release to perform a massive long jump. Do this for the next two bridges the helicopter blows up; if you fall, you'll take some damage, possible die, and have to take a trail to climb out.
Savepoint #5
- Regardless of how well you do using Feral Speed, you'll enter a new ravine. The helicopter will automatically crash and burn; kill the ground troops.
- Follow the trail, killing all in your way. It will curve around down to a lagoon, where you can steal a jetski for yourself. You can fully stock on P90 ammo in one of the tents below.
- Ride the jetski out of this area.
Savepoint #6
- Two goons will ambush you from a bridge, but you can just speed past them.
- Dock at the sea village ahead and kill all in your way as you battle up another trail.
- The trail leads to an airbase. A heli will drop off some grunts and flee. Wipe them all out. A good place to battle is in the tents; they will, oddly enough, protect you from gunfire and the rocket launcher thug on top of the base.
- Kill them all and use the hang glider by the rocket launcher thug to float down to the stream to the right, ahead of you. Follow it to a savepoint.
Savepoint #7
- At the fork in the river, go left. Ditch the hang glider and swim into the next area.
- Hug the right-hand mountainside, so that you are flanking the base ahead completely from the right. This lets you avoid some serious headaches, such as an artillery gunner.
- Fight your way straight up the base, taking whatever stairs you can find. Up top is a path that leads behind a guard tower, up to a clearing with a parked ATV.
- Get on the ATV and drive it all the way up to a radio tower.
- Bust into the tower and wipe out all the crew in there. You can crawl underneath an open shutter for medkits. Otherwise, take the only other exit back outside.
Savepoint #8
- Find the sandy trail leading upwards and follow it to a rope bridge.
- Follow the series of bridges, killing all in your way, till it ends into a control center.
- Enter the control center and ride the elevator down.
- At the bottom, interact with the console in the next room. A freakish super-mutant will try to bash through the nearby glass window, then bolt through another exit.
- Take the only exit out.
Savepoint #9
- Follow the trail of carnage through a wrecked office into a pit containing two garages. Carefully drop into the pit.
- The super-mutant from before will attack; you'll need to kill it. It likes to charge after you and perform an overhead smash. It can also hurl objects at Jack. It's not a very good idea to take it on barehanded as it will just smack you around anyway.
- To kill it, man the two gun turrets. It will likely destroy them with hurled objects, but they will do some damage.
- Next, lure it into the garage with fuel drums. Get out of there and hurl grenades into the garage. This will cause it tremendous damage.
- Finally, pound on it with dual MP5s, and if you run out of ammo, use the dual P90s in the second garage. This will be enough to finally kill it.
- With the creature dead, exit through the now-open gate to the next level. Grab the P90's before leaving.
SUB-AQUATIC FACILITY
Start
- Go up the trail, killing the four goons you find exploring the road. One of them holds an M4 Assault Rifle.
Savepoint #1
- There will be a battalion guarding the entrance to the facility ahead. The best thing to do is crawl through the grass on the far left side of the arena and keep going until you find a toppled fuel barrel and a medkit. Push the barrel straight down the slope and shoot it when it rolls by the machine gunner to kill him easy.
- Drop down, capture his nest. Use it as cover to shoot the guard by the alarm (and the alarm itself if need be). Then use the machine gun to waste everything in sight, including mercs that will come out of the facility.
- Enter the facility and shoot the trio across the catwalk. One of them has a machine pistol. Continue on into the facility.
Savepoint #2
- A guard will throw the alarm behind a glass window. Shoot through the windows, killing him. Shoot the alarm box as well. You can enter his room through a grate to the left of the window; there's body armor inside.
- Go right and follow the linear path. There will be plenty of goons to shoot; switch to the MP5 if you run out of M4 ammo.
- Blast your way through the fuel room, minding the tanks. Continue following the linear path.
- The path ends into a fork. A mechanic will throw an alarm; kill him and hit the switch box to stop the alarm. You can enter the room here for machine pistol ammo.
- As you progress, open the first door on your left. Shoot the three goons: one behind a table, one to the left behind glass, and a third coming from the right. Explore the rooms here for supplies, including a rocket launcher.
- Go back out and continue following the path. The path will end into a bathroom; kill the goon in the stall for an M4 and a savepoint.
Savepoint #3
- Crawl through a duct in the bathroom to a kitchen. Get ready for a big firefight up ahead, including four or so goons spawning from behind. Blast your way through.
- The path ends into a series of lockers and fences, making a mini-maze. Turn on Feral Senses to find your way through the maze. There's armor here if you can find it.
- Crawl out through the open shutter at the end of the maze and kill the guard before he can raise the alarm. #Walk over to the crates and use them to jump the fence into the water.
Savepoint #4
- Swim to the little beach and shoot the fuel drum to kill the two guards. Kill the sniper in the watch tower as well.
- Go up the trail right next to the little beach and backstab the sniper. Take his weapon and kill the sniper across the islet from him. Take his gun as well.
- The next sniper crew is on the same bank as the second sniper, closer to the facility. Rush them with the MP5, taking cover behind the rocks.
- Get back in the water and swim underneath the building. Turn the valve handle to the right to shut off the hot water release, then carefully swim through the jellyfish into the tube.
- Swim up through the tube and surface into a locker room. Take the only exit out.
Savepoint #5
- The path ends into a fork. The left route requires the Amber Passcard, so go right.
- Ignore the scientists examining the freaks in the stasis tubes and keep going until you encounter two rooms at the end of the hall. One of them has the Amber Passcard; grab it.
- Go back to the fork and take the other route. Open the locked door and hit the blue marker ahead for a cutscene.
- After the cutscene, your weapons will be gone (including the Amber Passcard), but Jack's Feral Attacks will be now powered-up. Exit the room, killing the goon that comes in.
- Follow the only path out to a savepoint.
Savepoint #6
- There's only one door operable by the savepoint. Enter it.
- Inside, a pool of water will open up. Dive in, and swim through the tube at the bottom back outside.
- Surface and follow the beach trail to another savepoint.
Savepoint #7
- The freaks from earlier have broken out of stasis and are on a rampage, attacking you and the mercs alike. Kill them all and grab the P90s amongst the overturned tubes on the trucks.
- Follow the beach trail through the water to another savepoint.
Savepoint #8
- Grab the grenades and use them to bushwhack the groups of mercs and freaks duking it out.
- Drop down and go right through the gate with the green lights.
- You will now follow a linear trail through a series of parks; there will be freaks and mercs brawling in several battles. The freaks are very vulnerable to Feral Attacks, especially if you do it from the bushes.
- Eventually you will hit a savepoint.
Savepoint #9
- Hit the water ahead running and surface hugging the left-hand side. You'll crawl through the grass till you hit the fort ahead.
- Climb up the ladder up onto the parapet and waste the distracted goons; don't forget the sniper in the watch tower.
- Crouch behind the parapet wall to easily waste the surviving freaks below, whom will just stand there. Afterward, drop down.
- Follow the road to an open gate.
Savepoint #10
- Follow the very linear route to an enemy command center. There will be one freak/merc battle, then a series of crates with elite mercs taking cover behind them. Make sure to land headshots on the elites.
- Once at the command center, climb onto the crates holding the medkit and use them to jump into the compound. You'll be taking on a boss.
Savepoint #11
- Crowe will appear, armed with a rocket launcher. He will fire rockets from the right-hand side of the roof. He will periodically enter the control room next to him to release freaks from the trailers (always in the same order).
- To start with, get into position asap and shoot the heck out of him when he first appears. If you are still using a P90, he will take massive damage. His first rocket will always miss, however, be sure to dodge his second (it helps if you are using Feral Speed).
- If you've piled on enough damage at the start, he'll already be near death. Just keep killing freaks for ammo, using the trailers they come out of as cover from rocket fire, then go out and shoot up Crowe. He'll retreat quickly. Look for some supplies in the trailers holding the freaks, such as body armor.
- Once Crowe is dealt with, a radio pylon will be toppled over. Use it to climb out of the lot with the trailers onto the roof. Drop down on the other side of the building.
Savepoint #12
- Follow the trail. You'll find a smattering of goons on the trail, easily dealt with. At the end of the line, be sure to grab the M4s, body armor, and anything else you need.
- Continue on to encounter a shut gate. Go around the back and enter the hole in the wall for a cutscene.
Savepoint #13
- After the cutscene, get ready to defend your position from an army of invaders. You'll need to survive until the security door opens. The key problem will be the snipers that spawn on the hilltop; make sure to kill each one that spawns there asap. The rocks near the hole in the wall provide good cover. Manning the machine gun turret will make you very vulnerable, so be careful.
- Once the security door is finally open, head on in.
Savepoint #14
- Find Val and observe the in-game cutscene. Afterward, Val will open the exit door.
- Go outside to encounter a jetski. You will need to follow the river through a gantlet of rocket fire.
Savepoint #15
- Rather than take the jetski, the best thing to do is to turn on Feral Speed and simply swim the entire river to it's end, rather than juke the constant barrage of rockets and water mines. Be sure to kill a couple rocket launcher thugs on the shoreline to max out your rocket stash, it will be very helpful in the next level.
- At the end of the river is a base camp with two towers. Get behind the one furthest downstream and use it as cover from the goons heading your way. Don't forget to kill the sniper in the tower.
- Keep going further and you will find a trail leading up. Follow it to a cave and enter; you will exit out the backside of the mountain.
Savepoint #16
- Make your way through the mini-maze of crates, popping any one in your way.
- When you encounter the steps leading down, be sure to check above you first for snipers.
- Travel down. Go left for grenades, armor, and a shotgun. Use the equipmenet to capture the control room to the right.
- Inside the control room, grab the M4 and open the sea gate using the console.
- Go back outside and fight your way down across the harbor to the docks. The catwalk going across the harbor collapses when you cross it; you'll need to use a Feral Speed-boosted jump to clear it.
- At the end of the line is a blue marker that will end the level.
DEAD MARSHES
Start
- Head towards the objective. You'll find a warehouse along the way; whack the goons inside and raid it for supplies.
- The path ends into downed tree. STAY BEHIND THE TREE. A new kind of freak will appear: "kamikazes" that explode when you get close, or kill them. The kamikazes will kill the mercs for you; kill any survivors from behind the tree.
- Follow the linear path to the next savepoint, making sure to kill any kamikazes at a safe distance.
Savepoint #1
- Keep following the linear path. You'll start to see normal freaks and kamikazes mixed up with each other; make sure to shoot the ones flailing their arms as they are kamikazes.
- The path ends into a wrecked bridge; you'll see a super-mutant running amok on the other side. Drop down, waste the freaks and follow the river westward.
Savepoint #2
- Keep going along the river and you'll hit a campsite. It is under CONSTANT attack from kamikazes. Just run out of there, don't stop to fight. You can snatch a shotgun with full ammo if you like.
- At the end of the line, Feral Sense will get an upgrade, allowing you to see the aura of your foes. An endless horde of freaks will attack here; ignore them and fight onward to the right.
- You'll encounter an enemy base; use a nearby downed pylon to cross into the base.
Savepoint #3
- Enter the garage from where you land to get armor and some ammo. Watch out for claymores!
- Go around the back and climb onto the buried tin pipe. Use it to take out the sniper on the electrical building.
- Watch out for a smattering of freaks as you head towards the two buildings. One of them has goons inside, guarding a blue marker. Shoot them through the windows.
- Go in the other building and take the ladder to the roof. Use a Feral Speed-boosted jump to the roof of the first building.
- Drop down through the skylight, grab the supplies, and get the C4. Freaks will blast their way in; kill them.
- Exit and head to the electrical building. Find a series of ladders that lead to the top. Plant the C4 and escape.
- The explosion will cause a pylon to collapse, smashing a hole in the fence. Exit out.
Savepoint #4
- Follow the linear path from the base. Since the enemies are light and few, build up your ammo by killing them with Feral Attacks. If you find a kamikaze, headshot it with a pistol.
- The path leads to a hill with metal sheetwork leading to a trail behind it.
Savepoint #5
- Kick the fuel barrels ahead to roll them into the freaks below. Shoot the barrels to wipe them out.
- Watch out for kamikazes as you go onward along the trail past the freaks and fuel barrels.
- Eventually you'll hit another savepoint.
Savepoint #6
- Keep going an a super-mutant will attack. If you still have the shotgun stash you found earlier, or the rockets from the previous level, he'll go down easy. Get in his face with the shotgun, dodge his swipes, and shoot his head, or just fire a few rockets. If not, you'll need to hope you have enough P90 ammo to get rid of him.
- Go down the route where the super-mutant came from and exit through a hole in the wall.
Savepoint #7
- Climb the crates over the fencing into the compound below. Kill all the goons.
- Head to the docks. There's a tactical precision rifle here. You can use this to snipe a few freaks. However, don't keep it if you still have a good amount of rockets.
- There's a pontoon here that will start floating down stream. While's not necessary to board it, it will be helpful for dealing with the freaks in this area. To climb aboard, swim into it from the west.
- As you float downstream, pop any freaks you see with the P90. Collect their ammo and return to your pontoon.
- The pontoon will eventually dock itself on the other side of the swamp. Disembark and follow the trail up.
Savepoint #8
- Two goons and a bunch of freaks will be brawling. Kill them. Go right along the bridge to raid a wrecked truck for some armor, otherwise go left.
- Climb the car wreck ahead and jump into the compound.
Savepoint #9
- You'll have to take on two super-mutants at once. If you still have your rockets, use them now. Afterward, chew them up with the P90, and be sure to shoot fuel barrels if they wander into range. If you are totally out of munitions, break into the warehouse with the huge supply of ammo, including light machine guns and tactical precision rifles, more than enough to finish them.
- Once finished, head on out through the open gates.
WASTELAND
Start
- Just follow the trail until you come up to the grisly scene ahead.
Savepoint #1
- Kill the chatty guards amongst the corpses and raid their shack for armor, grenades, and ammo.
- Continue onward.
Savepoint #2
- More chatty guards, easily dropped. Both buildings here have body armor, and one of them has a communications link you can use. Do so.
- Afterward, a humvee will arrive through the gate ahead. Kill the goons, capture it, and use the turret to wipe out everyone attempting to get you.
- Once finished, drive on out.
Savepoint #3
- The road eventually curves left. Don't take the curve; instead, shortcut through the jungle, allowing you to flank the hell out of the ambush point ahead. They won't stand a chance against the humvee turret.
- Capture the second humvee here and drive to the next area. Collect the P90s here first if you don't have on.
Savepoint #4
- The next area is a wide-open marsh. Kill all you see and watch out for a rocket launcher thug attacking from the trees. Find him and kill him asap while he is distracted by freaks; If he destroys your humvee, capture another one here.
- Before leaving this area, grab the body armor on the wood palletes past the rocket launcher guy. Drive on out.
- When you approach the bridge, ignore the gunfire and bail out of your humvee after hitting the jump. Swim to the nearby sewage pipe and follow it to the other side.
Savepoint #5
- Kill any kamakize in your way and follow the stream to a sewage pipe.
- Follow the sewage pipe to a ladder and climb it up into a compound.
- Race to the building on the far right. Head up the steps to the roof. It will make for great cover in blasting everyone below, including a rocket launcher goon.
- Get back down and enter the building next door. Climb the stairs to its roof.
- On the roof drop down over the fence. This will let you climb a series of metal ramps into the building with the green flare on its roof.
Savepoint #6
- A flashbang will go off once you go inside, and you'll be underfire from super-elites in here. They are not friendly towards the mercs or freaks. They take a LOT of damage and use powerful guns, including assault AR-15s. Be careful and make sure to kill as many as you can with the P90 before dropping down. Note that your Feral Attacks are still a one-hit kill.
- Grab their AR-15s, or collect all the shotgun ammo (the only weapon that will down them in one shot), then proceed onwards.
- Another flashbang will hit; go around the corner and wipe the super-elites out. Watch out for shooters on the catwalks.
- Follow the hall back outside. Kill the super-elites and watch out for a sniper behind a rock.
- Go further on to the power shed and throw the master power switch. Fight your way back into the building.
Savepoint #7
- Back inside, you'll see a lift lower to the ground. Kill the super-elites and board the lift, riding it up.
- Head out the open bay doors. Immediately kill the sniper to your right, then waste the super-elites below.
- Watch out for two backspawners as you follow a trail leading to the right.
Savepoint #8
- Kill the super-elites by the wrecked jeep. Watch out for snipers. Unless you are saving your light machine gun ammo, collect their tactical precision rifles.
- Slog your way through the linear path, wasting super-elites. Don't forget Feral Speed and Feral Attack. Retreat if an ambush occurs, killing them as they come to you.
- The path ends into a greenhouse-like structure. Enter it. There's a dead-end nearby with shotgun ammo if you need it.
Savepoint #9
- The super-elites in here are really grenade happy. Kill them all by the entrance and watch out for frags.
- Once they are all dead, climb the crates and hop over the fence. A super-mutant will attack here. There's more than enough P90 and AR-15 ammo lying around to kill it.
- Once it's dead, continue to the next area.
Savepoint #10
- Follow the path. Kill the three super-elites with their backs turned.
- You'll hit a fork, and freaks will be on the loose everywhere. Ignore them and blaze a path to the right.
- The path ends into a base. Be sure to hit the sniper on the trailer before heading inside.
- Look out for super-elites as you round the corner, and a few more behind some glass windows. These foes love to fire grenades with their AR-15s, so be careful.
- Follow the path to a pair of doors you can bash down with the Feral Attack/
Savepoint #11
- You must now escort Doyle to safety. He can take some decent damage, but if he dies, it's game over. Shoot your way through the super-elites with the AR-15. Watch out for those spawning from behind.
- If you have a sniper rifle, it will be useful. Keep following the linear path. Watch out for a sniper on top of a fallen pylon.
- The building past the pylon has body armor in there to use. You'll need it; there's two more snipers and a slew of baddies spawning all around the chopper.
- Once Doyle makes it to the chopper, touch him to end the level. Make sure to collect all the armor and ammo nearby before leaving.
BLACK FOREST
Start
- You begin in the water, your helicopter destroyed. Swim to shore.
Savepoint #1
- Bash your way through the mercs and freaks, some of them kamikazes. This area is wide open; head straight towards the objective.
- Later on, kamikazes will start spawning from all angles. Rush past them and keep heading towards the objective.
Savepoint #2
- The path leads to a building with mercs and freaks duking it out. Slip past them and enter the red-hued sewage pipe.
- There's a kamikaze in the pipe, so be careful. The pipe will bottom out into a new area.
Savepoint #3
- Do not fall into lava cracks as it is obviously fatal. Turn on Feral Speed and haul butt to the right, staying in the brush. Get behind the second bunker, then juke around and capture the two bunkers, one of which has armor.
- Go on ahead and drop down into the next area. Snipe the man on the rooftop of the building ahead if you have a sniper rifle, otherwise, Feral Speed over to the building and take it floor by floor. Look for armor on the second floor.
- On the roof, jump to the ledge ahead and land on the ground below. Continue on.
Savepoint #4
- Tread carefully; you'll find two chatty super-elites. Kill them, then watch out for batches of super-elites coming from both sides.
- You have two options: Take the ATV here or use Feral Speed. Whatever your choice, you will need to speed through the next trail here as there are hordes of rocket launcher goons. Feral Speed will help you avoid the claymore traps near the end.
Savepoint #5
- You'll eventually hit a roadblock (forcing you to ditch the ATV if you used it).
- Super-elites will be trying to invade the fortress ahead. Turn on Feral Speed and hang low in the grass on the left, making your way over to the fortress, out of view of the gunners. Let them kill the super-elites, then lean out and snipe them.
- Grab the armor and enter through the double doors for a cutscene. Waste the Feral Men quickly afterward.
- Continue into a garage. More Feral Men will be in here, including on the catwalks. Use their own light machine guns against them (ditch the sniper rifle if you still have one).
- After killing them all, a slew of Feral Men will bust out of an office. Waste them and enter the office to communicate with Val. She'll activate an elevator for you to use.
- Ride the elevator up to a penthouse suite.
Savepoint #6
- There will be a big battle with Feral Men right outside the elevator. Waste them all and go to the recreation room.
- Feral Men will now launch a massive invasion from all sides. The best thing to do is to turn on Feral Sense, retreat to the elevators, and waste everything coming through the elevators and down the halls.
- Once they are all dead, go to the ruined sections of the penthouse and climb the rubble upwards.
- Climb to the top and look for a grassy balcony you can access an elevator to. Ride it up to a boss battle.
Savepoint #7
- You'll be taking on a mutated Crowe here. He will camp from a sniping position while loads of Feral Men come down to help him. These Feral Men WILL stop coming if you keep killing enough. You MUST kill the Feral Men first or Crowe will be a headache.
- Take cover behind the heli wreckage if Crowe is bothering you. Kill every Feral Men that enters the arena using the weapons you have. You can fire the heli's rockets by pressing X, but it's not necessary. Just keep killing the Feral Men till they're all gone.
- Next, shoot at Crowe with the light machine gun till he decides to come down. When he does, grab some armor, hide behind a rock, and wait for him to approach.
- As he closes in, slip around behind him and mash B to pound on him with Feral Attacks. He will take colossal damage. If you run out of Adrenaline, retreat, firing AR-15 grenades at him.
- After your Adrenaline replenishes, one more barrage of Feral Attacks will finish him off. Head through the now open iron gate into the villa.
Savepoint #8
- Follow the hall through the villa till you hit a cutscene.
- After it completes, simply go out the balcony and jump towards the helicopter to end the game (you do not need to use a Feral Jump).
