There are 14 vehicle types in Far Cry 2 and over 40 variants. These include the standard Jeep, as well as various boats, planes and hangliders. Enemies can also drive vehicles and will use them to chase the player down if necessary.CVG: Far Cry 2 Interview (August 21, 2007)
The Vehicles
Vehicles in Far Cry 2 have a reliability score, much like weapons. Windows or headlights can be blown out, hoods can get torn off, bullet holes can rip through the metal, etc. Engines will start steaming and, eventually, flames may begin coming out of the engine compartment.Vehicles can be repaired by standing in front of the engine until an interaction icon appears. Hitting the action button causes the player to pull out a wrench and tune up the vehicle.
