  • About Multiplayer

In addition to the standard multiplayer Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, Far Cry 2 features two other modes. Capture the Diamond is (you guessed it) a play on Capture the Flag, but players are trying to steal the opponents' diamonds instead of their flag. In Uprising, the team's captain must capture three points on the map. Then, while maintaining control of the captured points, other team members set out to assassinate the other team's captain.

Players earn experience points as they play through the match and the amount awarded depends on their actions. Experience points translate into diamonds, which are used to upgrade skills and abilities. There are six classes to choose from, each of which has three upgrade levels.GameSpot: Far Cry 2 Exclusive Multiplayer Hands-On... (September 19, 2008)
