The mode is intended to satisfy players who are seeking and expecting a more realistic experience in Far Cry 2.
  • About Hardcore Mode

The point of Hardcore Mode is to provide a more challenging and realistic multiplayer experience for Far Cry 2 players.Maximum PC: Far Cry 2 Going Hardcore (February 10, 2009) Weapons are going to be given much more significance in Hardcore Mode, and thus weapon damage has been completely reworked so that all weapons do more damage than they currently do, making it easier to kill but also to be killed. In addition, all weapons have been rebalanced, though details on what exactly Ubisoft will be doing to change the guns remains unclear.

Enemy behavior has also been changed subtly. In Hardcore Mode, enemy names will disappear after the invicibility period they gain after spawning is over. Also, game admins can now change the spawning time, though they can't change the rate at which enemy spawns.

Finally, if you enjoy the normal Far Cry 2 multiplayer, you can use a search option to filter your results so that you can pick between either normal or hardcore gametypes, depending on your preferences.
