Fantasy Island is an American television show. It was spawned by the success of two made-for-television movies in 1977. The series originally aired in 1978 and was followed in 1998 by a revived series that was canceled in its first season. On the series guests would visit an exclusive island resort and fulfill many of their fantasies.

Controversy
Producers cited that actor Herve Villechaize propositioned women and quarreled with the staff. When he demanded in 1984 that his pay be increased to match his co-star Ricardo Montalban, he was fired, leading to the demise of the show in what came to be its last season.
