  • Fantasy Island is an American television show. It was spawned by the success of two made-for-television movies in 1977. The series originally aired in 1978 and was followed in 1998 by a revived series that was canceled in its first season. On the series guests would visit an exclusive island resort and fulfill many of their fantasies.

  • Controversy

    Producers cited that actor Herve Villechaize propositioned women and quarreled with the staff. When he demanded in 1984 that his pay be increased to match his co-star Ricardo Montalban, he was fired, leading to the demise of the show in what came to be its last season.
