Fantasia 2000

  • Released on January 1, 2000, Fantasia 2000 is the 38th animated films from the Walt Disney Company. It represented the realization of Walt Disney's vision for a constantly evolving and changing film in which episodic scenes are added and removed over subsequent releases. Like the original Fantasia, the film attempts to match animated artwork to classical music. However, Fantasia 2000 places a greater emphasis on spoken narration and live action introductions to each scene than the original. The majority of the music is played by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Fantasia 2000 was initially released in IMAX theaters before moving to regular theaters on June 16, 2000 and home video shortly after. Currently, both Fantasia 2000 and the original Fantasia are locked in the Disney Vault.
