Famke Janssen is a Dutch actress and model best known for her role as Jean Grey in the X-Men movies.
Born in the Netherlands, Janssen moved to the United States in 1984 to begin a modeling career. After modeling, she moved to Los Angeles to begin acting. She made a few appearances on TV shows until she got her first big role in 1994 James Bond film GoldenEye. She played Xenia Onatopp alonside Pierce Brosnan.
Janssen's most notable role is that of Jean Grey/Phoenix in the X-Men movies. She played the role in all three movies, winning the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress in X-Men: The Last Stand. She has also appeared in such movies as Lord of Illusions, The Faculty, House on Haunted Hill, and several other films.
In 2008, Janssen was named a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for Integrity at the Second Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
