Fallout New Vegas

Bethesda Softworks' Peter Hines announced the upcoming release of a new Fallout video game, entitled Fallout: New Vegas, at its London Showcase press event on April 20, 2009. Fallout: New Vegas isn’t a sequel to Fallout 3 as no character from the previous episode will appear in this game. The action however, takes place 3 years after the events from Fallout 3. http://www.usatoday.com/printedition/life/20100216/fallout16_st.art.htm

The action in Fallout: New Vegas takes place in 2280. As the name says, the character will be placed in a city similar to Las Vegas, a place that wasn’t too much affected by the nuclear attack from the previous games. In the game, the city’s population is divided in factions such as The New California Republic (also known as NCR) and Caesar's Legion. The player assumes the role of a courier whose tasks are to deliver different packages without knowing what he transports. He wakes up one day in a grave after he was shot in the head by Benny the leader of Geckos. Fallout: New Vegas provides a vast array of places that can be discovered, including Mojave Wasteland and New Vegas. The post-apocalyptic environments are redesigned to describe the events from Fallout 3.http://fallout.bethsoft.com/eng/games/fnv-overview.html

The player can chose a faction in the game or act alone, however the character will interact with NPC’s and each action will modify the storyline. The V.A.T.S. can be used in Fallout: New Vegas to pause the game and aim to different body parts of an enemy. Developers also announced a Hardcore Mode and a Reputation System that will track the consequences of the actions.http://fallout.bethsoft.com/eng/games/fnv-overview.html
