Many online retailers have a mysterious listing for "Broken Steel and Point Lookout," sparking rumors that Point Lookout may be a fourth downloadable expansion for the popular multi-platform RPG, Fallout 3.
Unannounced Plans
A number of online retailers have listed a mysterious Fallout 3 retail item called Point Lookout. The item, which is bundled with the downloadable expansion Broken Steel, has given rise to much speculation. Many hope that is a fourth expansion for the game, and others point out that Point Lookout is the name of a state park in Maryland, where developer Bethesda is headquartered.
In response to inquiries, Bethesda stated: "We have said there will be three DLCs for Fallout 3, for PC and 360. ...[W]e have no announced plans for additional DLC."
Online gaming mag Kotaku was quick to point out that the key word in that denial was "announced," which does not rule out the possibility of unannounced DLC. They also noted that Bethesda specified "for PC and 360," giving rise to speculation that Point Lookout may be something special for the PS3 version of the game, which to this point has not received any downloadable content.Kotaku: Is Point Look A New Fallout 3 Expansion?
