DLC Details
Operation Anchorage is the first of three scheduled DLC packs for Fallout 3. Released in January, 2009, Operation Anchorage places players in a "military simulation" in the Capital Wasteland that replicates the Battle of Anchorage, a piece of the war that took place during the game's backstory. Players will lead a squad across the Alaskan environment in an effort to get rid of Chinese Communist invaders. The expansion includes new armor, weapons and other gadgets.Eurogamer.net: Fallout 3 Operation Anchorage Inteview -

Introduction to Operation Anchorage
- Operation Anchorage is the first of the episodic downloadable content releases for the Xbox 360 and PC versions of Fallout 3.
- By downloading the Operation Anchorage DLC, you get about 4-5 hours of new content in the form of new quests that take place not in the wasteland, but in a simulator that recreates the fictional liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from the Communist Chinese forces.
- Once the DLC is downloaded, start up Fallout 3 and continue going about your business as usual. Eventually, you'll pick up a radio broadcast called "Outcast Distress Signal". This will begin the first quest of the DLC entitled "Aiding the Outcasts".
- So, now that we know what we're in for, let's dive right in to Operation Anchorage.
-
Aiding the Outcasts
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: Aiding the Outcasts Part 1 (Time: 9:21)
- Once you've received the radio signal, a marker will appear on your map at the south end of the wasteland, slightly southeast of the Red Racer Factory. If you don't have that location, just travel southeast from Megaton until you reach the marker.
- You'll know you're at the location when you see a door leading to Bailey's Crossroads Metro. Head inside, down the stairs, and then make a right when you're out of the doorway.
- Continue heading east and take out the Feral Ghouls along the way. At the end you'll reach a metal gate leading to Bailey's Crossroads. Take it to the outside.
- Head up the stairs and you'll find the same Defender Morrill who sent the distress signal. He'll question your sanity for stepping into a warzone, but he'd definitely appreciate any help you can give when it comes to eliminating the Super Mutant threat on the way to their base.
- Aid the Brotherhood Outcasts by taking out all Super Mutants in the area. When the area is clear, follow them up the wooden board path to the southwest.
- Stay close to the Outcasts as they plow through the wrecked building and make their way to the Outcast base. Feel free to scrounge around and snag some loot from the desks and lockers along the way.
- Once you get outside of the building, head down the ramp and you'll once again be stopped by Defender Morrill. Once you finish your conversation, take the freight elevator down to the Outcast Headquarters.
- At the bottom you'll be greeted by the fairly rude Defender Sibley. Follow him into the base and then take some time to do some exploring if you wish. You won't find anything too valuable, but there are lots of chems including three Buffouts on the top floor, a bunch of Med-X's lying around in the locked room with the very easy lock, and some Stimpacks in First Aid Boxes in the same room.
- Once you're through exploring, head into the command room and talk to Protector McGraw.
- Go through the conversation with McGraw anyway that you want and you'll find that your PipBoy makes you a prime candidate to go through a combat simulator to find a way to open the armory inside the Outcast Base.
- Once your conversation ends, head out of the command room and into the simulation room to your right.
- Talk to Specialist Olin who shares Defender Sibley's hostility towards you. Still, she'll hand over the Neural Interface Suit that you need to get into the simulation.
- Continue talking with Olin if you'd like, but when you finish, put on the suit and hop into the simulator to complete the quest.

The Guns of Anchorage
- NOTE: Things are a little different here in this simulation as opposed to the real world. The main big change is that you cannot loot anything from enemies or from the environment. Instead, health and ammo are replenished by activating special dispensers and weapons/items can only be picked up if they are glowing red. Of course, all of the weapons and items that you've acquired in the real world cannot be used in the simulation.
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: The Guns of Anchorage Part 1 (Time: 10:54)
-
Part 1 - The Anchorage Cliffs
- The start of the simulation has your character waking up after a botched parachute jump. You'll be met by Sergeant Benjamin Montgomery who will brief you on your mission.
- Once you've finished talking with Benji, take some time to look at your new equipment. You've got a silenced pistol, a trench knife, 50 bobby pins, a Stealth Boy, Winterized Combat Armor, and a Winterized Combat Helmet. The armor will already be equipped, so just take out your pistol and head up the trail ahead.
- Crouch into sneak mode at the top of the trail and use V.A.T.S to get a sneak attack on the Chinese solider ahead.
- You'll find a health dispenser near where the enemy was. These will be the only way to replenish health throughout the simulation, so use it if you took any damage. The good news is that they can be used infinitely and will always restore you back to full health.
- There will be an enemy on the cliffs ahead, but they're too far away to deal with right now. Run up the trail to the bridge and take out the enemy soldier on the other side.
- TIP: V.A.T.S is a bit limited in its use in this quest due to the fact that most of the enemies you'll find here are so far away from you. Most of the time you're better off shooting the enemy normally while heading towards them until you get close enough for an acceptable percent chance to hit in V.A.T.S. That is of course, unless you decide to use the Sniper Rifle.
- Once you're across the bridge, turn right and head up the staircases. As you're going around the gantry, you'll probably run into that enemy you ignored earlier, so be on your toes.
- When you reach the top of the stairs, head right to find an area with a health dispenser, a frag mine, and a sniper rifle.
- Once you've got the goods, head back up and proceed northwest into the small structure. When you get close, enemies will come up the stairs behind you along with enemies who will shoot you from the pipe all the way to the north. Get rid of the ones behind you first and then take shelter inside the structure.
- Pick up the Chinese Assault Rifle once inside and replenish your ammo via the ammo dispenser. While your first instinct may be to use the Sniper Rifle to take out the enemies on the pipe and bridge ahead, the Chinese Assault Rifle did a much better job for me. Just remember not to use V.A.T.S.
- When the area is clear, take some time to return to the health dispenser and replenish your health. You can also pick up the grenades and mines from the table next to the ammo dispenser.
- Once you're ready, head onto the pipe and go head up the ramp way to find a Stealth Boy.
- Go back on to the pipe and turn right once it connects with solid ground. Head up the stairs and be wary of a soldier on the pipe way above to the north. Kill him or ignore him and proceed up the ramp to the south.
- Keep following the stairs up and you'll be met with two Chinese Soldiers guarding a red door leading to the Cave Outpost.
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: The Guns of Anchorage Part 2 HD (Time: 9:12)
- Keep crouched as your moving through the caves and you'll eventually come to a large open area with two oblivious Chinese Soliders. Try to get a sneak attack on them if you can.
- Pick up the Gauss Rifle off the floor and then turn right to face southeast. There is a small cache of ammo, grenades, and health.
- TIP: The Gauss Rifle is a new weapon exclusive to this DLC. It is basically a really powerful bolt action energy Sniper Rifle that uses microfusion cells as ammo. This weapon cannot be replenished by ammo dispensers and you must find the microfusion cells by themselves.
- Once you're stocked up and healed up, head northwest. Continue up the ramp and take out the enemy at the top.
- Go through the doorway to the east and continue through the corridors until you reach a room where you will be reunited with Sergeant Montgomery. You can ask him for some ammo if you're low.
- Now that you've got some company, head through the door that opens and out the red door to reach the Anchorage Cliffs.
- Turn left and follow the trail to the steel catwalk. Now might be a good time to put one of those Stealth Boys to good use. Put it on and head left.
- Crouch and sneak over to the steel catwalk. There are two enemies up ahead who should be unaware of your presence. One or two shots with the Sniper Rifle to the torso using V.A.T.S should take them out.
- Proceed down the stairs and look to your right. There is another enemy inside the structure on the other side of the pipe. Snipe him through the window. Even if you miss or don't kill him, he probably won't know where you are and will walk out to give you a better shot on him.
- Once he's dead, head across the pipe to where he was to find a health dispenser and a door with a very easy lock. Inside you'll find a holotape and the first of ten Intel Briefcases. (Intel #1)
- Go back across the pipe and head north. There will be a lone soldier hiding in the rocks ahead. Take him out and then proceed across the bridge.
- In this next area there will be one more enemy behind the rocks as you make your approach, one on the bridge, and several that will come out of the structure to the west.
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: The Guns of Anchorage Part 3 HD (Time: 4:07)
- Once the area is clear, pick the locked door to the north to find another Intel briefcase and then head into the structure to the west. (Intel #2)
- Stock yourself up on ammo and microfusion cells at the stash of items and then continue through the corridors until you reach a split.
- Going straight ahead will put you in the line of fire for a long time, so a better idea would be to turn right and head through the Cave Passage.
- Head up the stairs and take out the one enemy inhabiting the area as you make your way to the door that will lead you back to the Anchorage Cliffs.
- When you re-emerge, quickly run towards the stairs leading to the top bunker, ignoring all fire until you reach it. Kill the two enemies inside and then heal yourself up at the health dispenser.
- Head back down and if you have 50 points invested in the science skill, activate the terminal at the rear of the bunker to make the turret turn on its masters. Otherwise you could simply aim for the targeting chip on the turret to put it into a frenzy, or just simply go gung-ho and kill everything inside the bunker yourself. Be aware that one of the enemies has a flame thrower so it wouldn't be a good idea to face him head on.
- Now that the coast is clear, head through the double doors leading to the Chinese Artillery Outpost.
-
Part 2 - Chinese Artillery Outpost
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: The Guns of Anchorage Part 4 HD (Time: 7:41)
- Right when you enter the outpost, an enemy soldier will be behind a couple of barrels just ahead. Take him out and then head east up the ramp.
- More enemies will appear as you get closer. Dispose with them by whatever means you wish and then make a left around the corner to find a table with a health dispenser, ammo dispenser, mines, grenades, and some other bits of ammo.
- Once you're ready, head up stairs and head through the doorway to the southwest. On the right wall is another locked door that leads to another holotape and Intel. (Intel #3)
- When you've secured the intelligence and the holotape, leave the room and retrace your steps back to the room you were just in. Now head north down the long hallway. Enemies will periodically poke out behind corners so be ready.
- Continue all the way to the end where you'll be met by another enemy soldier who can be easily dealt with by a close range assault rifle burst to the face.
- Check the table nearby for an ammo dispenser, some grenades, mines and other bits of ammo.
- There is another locked door to the left that can be opened either via the terminal or lockpicking. You'll find grenades and Intel inside. (Intel #4)
- Turn around and head up the stairs to reach another hallway lined with more soldiers. Be sure to use the health dispenser on top of the box before proceeding.
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: The Guns of Anchorage Part 5 HD (Time: 6:33)
- Turn left at the end of the hall to reach a new room filled with warheads. There are three Chinese Soldiers roaming around in here, so be careful not to miss them since they're likely hiding behind some box.
- Once you reach another large area with stairs leading up, make a sweep of the ground floor to take out any soldiers who might shoot you while you climb the stairs. There is also a Health dispense on top of some boxes in one of the corners.
- Proceed up the stairs and head through the doorway to the west.
- Turn right to find another locked door that can be picked. Inside you'll only find a holotape this time.
- Turn around and follow the hallway all the way to the end, taking out any Chinese Soldiers along the way.
- When you climb up the last stairway, you'll find another table with good scattered on top along with a health and ammo dispenser. Stock up and then head up the next set of stairs.
- You'll eventually arrive at a very large room with lots of red beams and stairways leading up. This room is filled with elite cloaked enemies called Crimson Dragoons.
- TIP: Keep your finger on the RB so you can use V.A.T.S to find Crimson Dragoons when they're cloaked. Note that they cannot be hit through V.A.T.S while cloaked. You must shoot them normally to disrupt their cloaking device and then you can use V.A.T.S to shoot them.
- Work your way upstairs, only dealing with the Crimson Dragoons if they go after you. Since they only use swords, they aren't any threat from a distance.
- Follow the catwalks until you reach the exit on the northern wall. Stock up on ammo and health at the dispensers and then head outside to the Artillery Overlook.
-
Part 3 - The Three Artillery Guns
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: The Guns of Anchorage Part 6 HD (Time: 8:49)
- Follow the path to the right and down the steps down until you reach the icy floor.
- You see the glowing red part of the artillery gun? That is where you'll have to plant an explosive charge. Before you do that though, make sure to clear out this area of all Chinese forces. There are two in the bunker as well as several wandering around outside. Once they're all dead, replenish your health and ammo at the bunker and then plant the charge.
- You now have twenty seconds to get out of the range of the explosion, so quickly head east and climb the stairs up to the next artillery gun. A Sniper will probably be shooting at you, but ignore him for now and focus on running away.
- As you turn the corner, you'll likely run into an Inferno Unit so keep a finger on RB so you can pause time and put a couple of bullets in his head before he sets you on fire.
- Now that you're a bit closer and that the explosion has probably already occurred, take out that annoying sniper.
- Before you plant the next explosive, replenish your supplies and health at the nearby table.
- Plant the charge, run up the ramp behind you and follow the path to the next piece of artillery.
- Move to the cliff overlooking the area and shoot down on the Chinese Soldiers just outside of the bunker.
- Go inside the bunker and you can once again replenish your health and ammo with the dispensers.
- Clean up the remaining enemies in the area and then plant the final charge. Once it's planted, return to the site of the second artillery gun and wait for the explosion. Once the gun is destroyed, this quest will be over.
-
Part 1 - Getting Ready For Battle
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: Paving the Way Part 1 HD (Time: 10:46)
- After blowing the three artillery guns, you'll see a flash of white and will reawaken in front of General Chase. Go through the conversation and you'll be briefed on the final mission: The titular Operation Anchorage.
- Basically, you have to hit three targets controlled by the Chinese: the Chimera Depot, the Listening Post, and finally the Pulse Field.
- Once you're done with Chase, talk to Lieutenant Morgan for some information on forming your strike team and outfitting yourself with a weapons package. He will give you recruitment markers so you can create your strike team. You can do this by going over to the two terminals and choosing the units that will make up your team, along with the package that you will outfit yourself with.
- TIP: Obviously you'll want to go with a package that complements your skills. If you're a small guns specialist, go with the Fire Team package. If you like using Missile Launchers, go with the Heavy Weapons package. Choosing a strike team is more of a personal preference. I went with a Sentry Bot and one Infantryman. Make sure to select "Deploy Team"
- Before you leave the command tent, grab the holotape and psycho lying on the tables. Once you get those two things, time to head out.
- Talk to Sergeant Montgomery to gain control of your strike team and send them off to a destination. We don't want to leave right now though so don't order them to move to any location just yet.
- Head to the doctor's tent and talk to Dr. Adami. She will give you 5 Psychos as chemical rations. You'll also find a holotape in here as well as a health dispenser.
- Leave the tent and walk eastward to talk to the Quartermaster. He's the one who will give you the gear that you selected at the terminal.
- TIP: With a high enough Speech skill, you can also get the Quartermaster to give you a Gauss Rifle.
- Head inside the Quartermaster's tent to find some grenades, mines, missiles and microfusion cells as well.
- Now you're ready. Talk to Montgomery and tell him where you'd like to go first. You can tackle either the Listening Post or the Chimera Depot in any order you want. This guide is going to cover the Chimera Depot first.
-
Part 2 - The Chimera Depot
- Follow your squad until they stop before the Ice Camp. Talk to Montgomery and order him and the team to attack to get things started.
- Once the camp is clear of Chinese forces, head into the tent to the west and replenish both health and ammo.
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: Paving the Way Part 2 HD (Time: 10:22)
- </object>
- </hypertext>
- Exit through the other side of the tent and seek out enemy soldiers in the guard towers and by the sandbags to your right. If you start taking a lot of damage, make a break for the tent you came from and refill your health.
- Once the area is Chinese-free, enter the tent by the sandbags to pick up some more Intel. You should also talk to Montgomery and replace any members of the strike team that you might have lost. (Intel #5)
- Head through the through the left most tent to the east and then turn left.
- Head forward a few steps and then look to your right once you pass between the two structures to find two American Soldiers being held hostage by a Chinese. Kill the enemy and then press A next to both of the soldiers to release them.
- Talk to Montgomery and tell him to wait for you by the Chimera Depot. This will cause your squad to run ahead and will let them take on the field of Spider Drones ahead so you don't have to. Spider Drones are essentially moving mines that will walk towards you and try to explode. Keep behind your squad and let them take care of them. They're not worth wasting ammo on.
- When Montgomery stops, talk to him again and tell him to initiate the attack on the Chimera Depot. Once again follow your strike team forward as you move in on the enemy compound.
- Your first job obviously is to take out the two soldiers manning the guard towers. Once they're gone, proceed through the gates and into the depot.
- The depot itself is a very wide open area, so be sure to keep an eye on your radar so you can know where enemies are coming from.
- Clear the immediate area of enemies and then walk up to the first fuel tank and press A near the valve to plant an explosive charge.
- Once the charge is planted, turn around and head northeast to reach a small building holding an ammo and health dispenser along with another piece of Intel. (Intel #6)
- By the time you collect all of the ammo, the explosion should have gone off. Head back outside and this time head west.
- Enemies will be manning the guard towers so be sure to take them out before heading to the other side of the wall.
- Once you've got the guard tower locked down, head around the wall but stop before moving too far because you'll be met by an intimidating Chimera Tank.
- Thankfully they're not nearly as durable as they look. Simply unloading on it with an Assault Rifle will do the trick. You should also still have your strike team which will make bringing the tank down even easier.
- Once the tank is down, head north and take out the two enemies in the bunker along with the one in the guard tower if you didn't kill him before. You can replenish your health and ammo in the bunker as well.
- Plant the charge on the fuel tank, clear out of the area and wait for the fireworks to complete this part of the quest.
-
Part 3 - The Listening Post
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: Paving the Way Part 3 HD (Time: 10:22)
- After the second fuel tank blows up, you'll be teleported back to the command tent. Head outside and talk to Montgomery to replace the fallen members of your strike team and to tell him to wait for you at the Mining Town.
- Before you leave to follow your team, you can replenish your health at the doctor's tent and replenish your ammo at the Quartermaster's tent if you need to.
- When you're ready, leave the base and head up the right most path and take it all the way to where your team is waiting.
- Talk to Montgomery and tell him to start his attack on the mining town. Note that he makes no exaggeration when he says that the town is crawling with commie forces. This is going to be a tough fight.
- Head on into the warzone and hang a right once you get past the train tracks. Take cover behind the white walls with windows and face north east to spot a Chinese Sniper. Chip away at his health until he falls.
- Once the sniper is down, head into the middle of the action, but hug the wall on the right to stay out of sight of the enemy with the missile launcher. Take out any enemies that appear along the way.
- Follow the wall around and then head up the ramp to find the first Chinese Launcher. Get in close so that he puts away his weapon and take him out.
- Turn around and head into the broken down building to your right. Another Chinese Launcher is waiting for you inside. Once again, get close enough so he puts away his Missile Launcher.
- When the area is clear, refill your health and ammo with the nearby dispensers. At the west side of this building there is also some Intel. (Intel #7)
- Drop down and start heading northeast. Go up the stairs and then turn left to find another broken down house filled with Chinese forces. Apart from the two soldiers in front of you, there is also an Inferno Unit on the second story to your right.
- Take a few steps forward and then turn right to find another Chinese Soldiers up top. Once he's dead, head to the area he was guarding to find a captive American Solider along with health and ammo dispensers.
- Head outside and proceed westward to find one more Chinese Soldier hanging out near a shanty.
- Now that the Mining Town is presumably secure, talk to Montgomery to replace your strike team and to have them wait at the Listening Post.
- Before you head out, make sure that you're all stocked up on ammo and health. The road to the Listening Post is pretty dangerous. In fact you might want to save now.
- Head north-northwest and stop before you get past the red box to your left. On top of the box is a cloaked Sniper. In fact, there are a total of four cloaked Snipers keeping an eye on the middle of the area.
- Kill the first one on top of the box and then get the one on top of the stone wall to your right. The next three are on the remaining corners of the area. There is one on top of the stacks of boxes to the north-northeast and two on top of both of the stone walls to the right.
- This part is difficult because these snipers are very accurate, they take forever to kill, and they're in a position where more than one can usually hit you at once. More than any other time, I recommend that you high tail it back to the health dispenser if you start to get in trouble.
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: Paving the Way Part 4 HD (Time: 6:09)
- Once the Snipers are down, follow the strike team until the stop at the base of the Listening Post.
- You should know the deal by now. Talk to Montgomery, replenish your lost troops, and tell him to commence the attack.
- Head forward and take cover behind the large rock in the center. Peak out and start firing upon the Crimson Dragoons ahead.
- When it's clear, head up the stairs and head inside the Listening Post.
- Open the door and be ready to fire upon a Crimson Dragoon inside the next room. There will also be a Chinese Technician who won't be hostile towards you. Kill him anyway though since you need to kill all of the enemies in the Post in order to complete the quest.
- Go through the next door and follow the path up to reach a room with a staircase and enemies lining the top. Take out what you can from the bottom floor and then head upstairs to clean up the rest.
- Before proceeding, head back down and check behind the stairs to find another piece of Intel (Intel #8). Now head back up the stairs.
- Open the door and proceed down the corridors to reach another tough room filled with cloaked Chinese Snipers. Thankfully there are health and ammo dispensers right in the middle of the room that you can run to if things start to get dangerous.
- Your goal here is to get them to become uncloaked so you can use V.A.T.S on them. Since it's close quarters, V.A.T.S is the way to go here.
- When the room is clear, replenish your health and ammo again and then head through the door ahead.
- Proceed through the corridors again to reach a door leading to the final room of the Listening Post. Take out both Dragoons and the Technician who will probably end up running away. Then head out the red door leading to Anchorage.
- Turn right once you're outside and keep a sharp eye out for a cloaked Sniper (who for some reason is using an Assault Rifle).
- Once he's dead, head into the bunker and immediately turn to your left to find another cloaked Sniper who was waiting to ambush you.
- If your objective of clearing the Listening Post hasn't been cleared yet, replenish your health and ammo and make a final sweep of the entire Listening Post interior to look for an enemy that you might have missed. Once you complete your objective, head outside and you'll be teleported back to the base.
- If you've cleared both the Chimera Depot as well as the Listening Post, you'll have completed this quest.
-
Part 1 - Trench Wars
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: Operation: Anchroage! Part 1 HD (Time: 10:39)
- Only one target left: the Pulse Field. Reload back up on ammo and replenish your health before stepping outside. Your strike force isn't going to help you on this one.
- When you're ready, head outside the base and travel directly north through the barbed wire shingles.
- Eventually you'll make it to the trenches. Follow the linear path that the trenches make, ignoring all of the artillery blasts that will rock your vision.
- It'll be a little while until you see an enemy soldier, so just be patient. When you do run into your first group of enemies, keep on eye out for a health dispenser along the left side of the trenches. There will also be another piece of Intel and a captive soldier. (Intel #9)
- Three Chinese Soldiers will be waiting for you around the next corner. Once you kill them, you can replenish your ammo by the dispenser next to the ramp.
- Replenish your health if you need to and then head up the ramp. Keep heading west until you reach another set of trenches.
- Inside the room ahead is a Chinese Sniper and an Inferno Unit waiting to ambush you around the corner. From here on out, be careful of those corners because Inferno Units like to hide and wait for you.
- Once the area is clear, head inside and refill your health and supplies via the dispensers and table.
- When you're ready, continue down the trenches and shoot the turrets inside the bunker.
- Some Spider Drones will be wandering on the floor up ahead so keep your eyes focused on the ground and on your compass.
- If you want some more experience and like to read terminals, make a left at the fork and then make another left at the next split. Otherwise make a left at the fork and then make a right at the split and skip the next two steps of this walkthrough.
- Two enemy soldiers will be on the ground level ahead with one Chinese Launcher above the trenches firing rockets down on you. Obviously your first priority is to take out the Missile Launcher.
- Proceed further down the trench to reach a room with two more Chinese Soldiers. Once they're dead, replenish your health and read the information on the computer if you wish. Turn around and retrace your steps back to the split.
- As you're heading eastwards, keep an eye out for another Inferno Unit waiting to set you ablaze as soon as you walk by.
- Just before the end of the trench, be prepared to deal with a Chinese Launcher and soldier guarding a health and ammo dispenser. Once they're dead, heal up, restock and proceed up the steps.
-
Part 2 - Unstoppable Power Armored Allies
- Make a left when you get out of the trenches and open fire on the enemy forces ahead. You might want to get a little closer and then crouch behind the sandbags for some cover.
- When all of the enemies ahead are dead, turn around and help out your fellow soldiers with destroying a turret in the bunker to the north.
- YouTube: Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage - Quest: Operation: Anchorage Part 2 HD (Time: 8:51)
- </object>
- </hypertext>
- Now that the area is clear, head back to the sandbags and go west as far as you can go, then make a right. Enter the doorway on the right side and kill the two Chinese Soldiers inside.
- Replenish your health and then move through the house and face westward. You'll be faced with lots of Chinese Soldiers, but thankfully you'll be aided by American Power Armored Soldiers who will make quick work of the Chinese resistance.
- Whenever you're able, head inside the structure on the right and replenish your health and ammo.
- Follow the path around and wait for your Power Armored allies to pave the way for you.
- Continue following your allies until you reach the Pulse Field. Watch as one poor Power Armored soul walks into the field and gets fried. Thankfully you aren't wearing Power Armor so you're free to walk around the field with no problem.
- Walk to the back of the bunker ahead and take out the enemies and turrets inside.
- Head back out and now travel eastward to the bunker all the way in the distance. There you'll find a switch that will turn off the Pulse Field and will allow your allies to travel across. You will also find the final piece of Intel (Intel #10).
- When the field is down, it's time to storm the Chinese Compound. Make the long march to the north where you'll find your Power Armored buddies waiting for you. Help them take out the two Mark II Turrets and then wait for them to blow the gate. Enter the doors that lead to Chinese HQ.
- Once you enter you'll be faced with General Jingwei. If you've got the Speech skills, try the speech challenge in order to get him to commit suicide. Otherwise you're going to have to fight him.
- If you have to fight him, do not take him lightly. He can take an ungodly amount of punishment before going down. Try running around and getting him to focus his attention on one of your allies instead of you.
- Otherwise, there's no strategy here other than shoot him till he dies.
- Once the General croaks, the Simulation will pause and General Chase will come out to congratulate you on completing your training.
- After you finish talking with General Chase, you'll awaken from the simulation and return to the real world. Your last job is to go to the armory, unlock the doors, and claim your rewards. Congratulations on completing Operation: Anchorage!
-
