Mothership Zeta is the fifth downloadable content pack for Fallout 3, the first-person shooter/role-playing game released for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on October 28, 2008. The DLC pack was released in July 2009, and is available for all three platforms.
About the Expansion
Mothership Zeta will be the fifth downloadable expansion pack released for Fallout 3 and is currently expected in July 2009. In Fallout 3, players who like to thoroughly explore the game world will have discovered a crashed UFO with an alien inside who was broadcasting a distress call. It's even possible to equip a rare alien blaster in the game.
In Mothership Zeta, aliens, described by developer Bethesda as being "pissed," respond to the distress call sent out by their stranded comrade. The player gets abducted and the entire expansion takes place on board a gigantic alien spacecraft. For this reason, many of the old art assets couldn't be used and so the expansion has a different look than the rest of the game.
Fallout 3 game director Todd Howard stated that it will not be necessary to have the other expansions or even to have finished the main game in order to beam aboard Mothership Zeta. It will not raise the level cap, but will add a variety of new weapons and armor for gamers to play with.IGN: Aliens Invade Fallout 3 (May 19, 2009)
The fourth expansion, Point Lookout, is set in a new swampland area and will be released in late June 2009. The two new DLC packs will be released only after the first three expansions, Operation Anchorage, The Pitt and Broken Steel are made available for the PS3.
