Faith No More was an experimental rock group from San Francisco, California who formed in the early 1980s. Their music combined elements of Metal, Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, and Jazz. They released six studio albums before breaking up in 1998.

Faith No More went through a number of different lineup changes and personal disagreements during their career, the band's unique approach to music has made them one of the influential Hard Rock bands of the 1990s. The band broke into the mainstream with their 1989 album The Real Thing, which spawned the hit single and video "Epic". Their follow up, Angel Dust was critically acclaimed but did not match the success of their breakthrough album. The band broke up in 1998 so that the members could pursue other projects. After the breakup, drummer Mike Bordin became a member of Ozzy Osbourne's band, Mike Patton formed his own label, Ipecac Recordings, and played in a number of bands.
