Its athletic teams are members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
  • About Fairfield University

    Originally Fairfield College, the school opened in 1942 as a preparatory school offering a four year program. By 1945, the college transitioned to Fairfield University and was chartered to grant degrees by the State of Connecticut. By 1950, the first graduate classes were held at the university and by 1951 the school produced its first graduating class.
