Fairbank Farms Ground Beef Recall

  • E. Coli O157:H7

    Escheria coli is a bacteria that causes food poisoning. E. coli O157:H7 is a strain of the bacteria that produces a toxin which can cause severe and potentially fatal illness. Symptoms of E. coli infection include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea (which may be bloody), and vomiting. Most people recover in 5-7 days, but about 5-10% of those infected will develop Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS) will may cause kidney failure and death.http://www.cdc.gov/nczved/dfbmd/disease_listing/stec_gi.html
