Fail Blog is a blog website with a twist. The website features pictures and videos or someone or something that has failed at whatever they were doing at the time and the failure was captured. The pictures or videos are captioned with the word fail, epic fail or X Fail.
The Fail Blog website was launched in November 2007. It quickly grew in popularity and by April 2008, it was sold to Pet Holdings Inc. Pet Holdings Inc also owns I Can Has Cheezburger? I can Has Cheezburger? is a website much like Fail Blog but it is geared towards funny cat pictures and videos with captions. Fail Blog won two Webby Awards in 2009 in the category of People’s Voice in Humor and Weird. The Webby Awards is an international award show honoring excellence on the Internet. It was established in 1996. The Webby Awards are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. When Fail Blog had some issues with YouTube, it started hosting its own videos with Viddler. Viddler is another website where people can watch and publish videos. As of this time, Fail Blog uses various video channels including YouTube and MySpace.
