This is Part 2 of our Fable: The Lost Chapters Walkthrough. It contains the chapter "A New Hero."
-
-
Leaving the Guild
]- Step into the green light to enter the Experience screen. This screen allows you to use your experience to enhance your character. Think about what kind of hero you'd like to make before you spend your points. Do you want your hero to be a magic user? Then put some points into Will. An archer? Spend some points in Skill. A sword fighter? Put points into Strength.
- Note: This is the only place you can spend Experience in the game. Fortunately, it is always here.
- Examine the Map in the center of the room. This will give you a list of Available Quests. Quests marked with a gold seal are critical quests that advance the storyline. Quests marked with a silver or bronze seal are optional.
- Select the Wasp Menace quest. Accept it.
- Return to the Demon Door near the Will training area.
- Speak to the Demon Door.
- Go into your Items Inventory and use the Lamp in front of the Demon Door.
- Head inside. Grab the items from the bookshelves and the chest.
- Exit the Guild. You may return at any time during the game.
- Note: The man outside the Guild is the Title Merchant. You can purchase a new title from him if you wish. Your title is the name by which other characters will refer to you. There is another Title Merchant later in the game as well.

The Wasp Menace Quest
- YouTube: Let's play Fable the lost chapters part 7 (Time: 9:15)
- Follow the man who comes to meet you. He will lead you straight to the wasps.
- Enter the Picnic Area.
- Save the villagers from the wasps. They are weak. Use whatever weapons you wish.
- Attack the Wasp Queen. She is easy prey for ranged attacks. Use a bow or Lightning on her to make the fight easy.
- Tip: Watch out for any smaller wasps the Queen sends at you. Kill them first.
- Quest completed.
- You have obtained your first Trophy. Show it off to the villagers in the area to earn some Renown.
- Search the picnic tables for some loot. You should find some food, a Health Potion and a Style Card.
- Note: Hair and Facial Hair style cards may be used at a Barber to obtain certain hair styles. Tattoo cards work the same way. The cards do not give you the style automatically. They simply give you access to the style. Be aware that every Style and Tattoo has an Attractiveness and Scariness rating. Very Attractive styles will make you more appealing to the opposite sex. Scary styles or tattoos will make some people afraid of you.
- Leave the picnic area.
Maze's Information Quest
- Head towards the town of Bowerstone. The yellow dot on your minimap will tell you which direction you should be heading.
- Stop when you reach the center of Lookout Point. There is a bully and a beggar arguing. Help the beggar for Good Points or help the bully for Evil Points. Use the Fart expression in front of the bully to chase him off. Use the Belch expression in front of the beggar to scare him off.
- Note: Expressions are the main way your hero communicates. He does not speak.
- Turn around. There is a large thorn bush covering a hole in the wall. Use your sword to hack it down. This will reveal a path.
- Go down the path. Grab the Silvery Key. Silvery Keys are used to unlocked Silver Chests throughout Albion. Each chest will have a number displayed on it. This indicates how many Silver Keys you need to unlock the chest.
- Tip: If you do not currently have any yellow quests you can perform a Hero Save instead of a World Save. This will save the current state of your character instead of the entire world. Using the Hero Save, you can come back to this one spot and grab as many Silver Keys as you want. Hero Save, grab the Silver Key then Hero Save again. Come back and the key will have returned.
- Head to Bowerstone South.
- Talk to Maze. He is in front of the Tavern.
- Quest Completed.
Bowerstone South
- YouTube: Let's play Fable the lost chapters part 8 (Time: 9:48)
- There are several non-quest things to do here. Spend some time and explore Bowerstone South.
- Enter the Tavern. Look for the man with the top hat. This man (and all others dressed like him) is the games man. This particular man offers a game of Pairs. 16 cards will be laid out before you. You must turn them over two at a time so that both cards you turn over are the same. The trick is to start at the upper left corner and work your way down until you have revealed all the cards. This should tell you what each card is and where it's mate is.
- Note: The Card Pairs game is the quickest and easiest way to earn money in Bowerstone South.
- A child may talk to you while you are in the pub. Follow the child to her mother to get The Sick Child optional Quest. You will also be approached by another child who will give you the Collect the Hero Dolls quest.
- Note: Searching bookshelves and dressers in people's houses will earn you Evil Points. It is considered stealing.
- Visit the clothing merchant. Go to the upper level of his house. Grab the Silver Key on the balcony.
- Save up 1,500 gold. This will allow you to purchase the home at the far end of Bowerstone South. You can either live in it or rent it for extra cash. You can also improve the decoration of the home. This costs more money but raises the rent your tenants pay. You can also mount Trophies on the walls of your home to increase the rent you receive even further. Rent is left under the sign in front of your property every three days. Check it regularly.
- Note: It will take your properties two days to start producing money. Your tenants need time to move in.
- Visit Mr. Gout in the schoolhouse to receive the Book Collection quest.
- Note: This quest requires you to submit six books to the class. There are two rewards: a Bright Wizard Hat and a Dark Wizard Hat. Search the Guild for books if you want the Bright Hat. Turn in books you get elsewhere (do not search the bookshelves in the Guild) to get the Dark Hat.
- Return to the Guild when you are ready to resume questing.
The Sick Child Optional Quest
- YouTube: Let's play Fable the lost chapters part 11 (Time: 10:11)
- Go to Bowerstone Quay. The entrance is on the southwest wall of Bowerstone South.
- Speak to the Witch. Her hut is straight ahead as you come onto the Quay.
- Tip: Search the Scarecrow next to the Witch for a Crunchy Chick. You can eat Crunchy Chicks for Evil Points and Health. Save this one for now.
- Head back towards the Guild. Stop and speak to the two men standing next to the statue at Lookout Point. They will tell you about a mushroom they lost in the Guild.
- Go to the Demon Door inside the Guild. Just before it, you will see a small ripple and some bubbles in the water. Use a Fishing Rod to pull the mushroom up. If you don't have a Fishing Rod, you can buy one from the merchant in Bowerstone. His stand is just inside the doors.
- Note: Bubbles and ripples in the water always indicate the presence of something important. Fishing at any other water will only get you Fish.
- Buy the second Blue Mushroom from the merchant in Barrow Fields. You will not be able to do this until after you have completed the Trader Escort quest.
- Speak to the woman by the well in Oakvale. She will tell you about the man she met at a party in the Guild Woods.
- Travel to the Guild Woods. Speak with the man there. He will give you a letter to deliver to the woman.
- Return to Oakvale. Deliver the letter. She will give you a reply to send back. You can also say the letter is from you for Evil Points.
- Return to the Guild Woods and deliver the reply. Doing so earns you Good Points and the third Blue Mushroom.
- Go to the Picnic Area near Lookout Point. You will find a woman there who will talk to you. Speak to her. She will ask you to do a dance for her. Do either the Cossack Dance or the Top Hat Dance three times. She will give you the last mushroom after your third dance.
- Return the mushrooms to the Witch at Bowerstone Quay. She will give you a potion.
- Give the potion to the mother in Bowerstone South. You will receive 2,000 gold and 200 Renown.
- Quest completed.
Beardy Baldy Optional Quest
- Find Beardy Baldy sitting on a bench at the end of Bowerstone Quay.
- Speak to him to get his quest.
- Go the Barber in Bowerstone South and get The Pudding Basin haircut.
- Return to Beardy Baldy. He will ask you to get the Mutton Chop Beard.
- Go to the Barber and get the Mutton Chop Beard.
- Return to Beardy Baldy. He will ask you to get the Trader Moustache.
- Go to the Barber and get the Trader Moustache.
- Return to Beardy Blady. He will give you the Fire Monkey Tattoo.
- Quest Completed.
- Tip: You may want to get a shave. You can also attack Beardy Baldy if it makes you feel any better. Doing so will give you an Evil Point.
Orchard Farm Quest
- YouTube: Let's play Fable the lost chapters part 9 (Time: 10:33)
- Go to the Map Room in the Guild. There will be two quests available. The Good quest has you defending Orchard Farm from a bandit raid. The Evil quest has you attacking Orchard Farm.
- Follow the marker on your map to get to Orchard Farm. You will go through some areas which have enemies in them. Ready a weapon once you leave Lookout Point.
- Head to the far south end of the Greatwood Entrance. You will find some potions and a chest.
- Stop by Fisher Creek if you wish. The Creek is through the northwest exit of Greatwood Entrance. Stopping here will get you some XP, a free Fishing Rod and some loot.
- Continue through the southwestern exit. This takes you to Greatwood Lake.
- Tip: go up the hill for a Silver Key.
- Save the traders from the wasps and beetles. Trade with them if you wish. Traveling merchants often have rare goods.
- Leave through the southeast exit.
- Defend the barn from the Bandits. They will come in groups of three from the north. Kill them before they make it to the barn.
- Attack the barn with the Bandits. You need to defend them long enough to get the crates out. Kill the guards before they can kill the Bandits.
- Tip: Fire a couple shots with your bow to soften the Guards/Bandits up.
- Fight Whisper. You'll need to hit her with Flourish attacks to defeat her.
- Quest Completed.
- Tip: Search around Orchard Farm for fishing spots, apples and other loot. Look for the chest outside the orchard. It contains Treasure Clue 5.
- Tip: Go fishing off the end of the pier in the far southeast corner of Orchard Farm. You'll find a Silver Key.
- Return to the Guild when you are ready to continue questing.
Orchard Farm Escort Optional Quest
- Find the trader at Lookout Point. Speak to him to start the quest.
- Follow the pulsing white indicator to the south.
- Defend the trader against enemy attacks.
- Stay close to the trader at all times.
- Take him straight south through Greatwood Entrance into Orchard Farm.
- Quest Completed.
- Note: This quest is repeatable. Any time you see a trader at Lookout Point, the quest is available.
- Tip: Cast Heal Life to heal the trader. He will not give you a bonus if he is wounded at the end of the quest. Healing him guarantees your bonus.
