VIII. Brightwood
- Fast travel to Brightwood, and follow the glowing trail. There are bandits and Hobbes in large quantities here, but the local sheriffs will help you out if they're close by.
- Eventually, you'll find Hannah, who's since taken the name Hammer. After some tongue-lashing, she'll accompany you to the Bandit Coast.
-
VIII. Bandit Coast
- There are bandits here(surprise!), so be ready as you move forward. You don't need to worry about Hammer, as she'll take care of herself, but try not to let her get surrounded.
- Continue following the glowing trail, stopping to open the chests along the way and use your spade on the dig spots your dog finds, and pay attention to when you hit the center of your map for the Bandit Coast area. When you do, keep your eyes peeled for another Silver Key.
- Your dog will bark if enemies are incoming, giving you plenty of heads up to get your weapon ready and take down weaker enemies from a distance with your gun.
- Soon you'll reach a large barricade - don't bother trying, you can't destroy it. Hammer, on the other hand, can, and does so in one mighty blow. There's a pile of bandits on the other side, including some Highwaymen.
- Defeat the bandits using Time Control and chain attacks(if you have them). Use the rolling maneuver to avoid being surrounded, and explore the camp to find a chest. Follow the glowing trail to the next area, Westcliff.

VIII. Westcliff
- As soon as you appear, keep an eye to your left for a chest that has a Steel Cutlass and other items. The cutlass is a good melee weapon, especially if you've been neglecting your upgrades.
- Up ahead, you'll run into Balvarines, the werewolves of Albion. Use Time Control to slow them down, then wail on them with chain attacks to take them down easily enough. They can dash almost as fast as your targeted Time Control spell, so be ready to use the rolling maneuver to avoid their swipes.
- Keep moving, and you'll meet up with Lilith, who tells you her husband was killed by the Balverines before they took her son. She'll follow you the rest of the way, so head across the bridge and go down the hill.
- Kill the Balvarines here, and keep moving. Your dog will find dig spots and treasure chests along the way(you've been treating him nicely, right?), so stop to grab these before continuing.
- You'll come to a large wall with Balvarines watching you that won't attack - you can scare them with a couple of gun shots, though. Follow the glowing trail into the fortress-like area to the door that leads to Howling Halls.
-
VIII. Howling Halls
- YouTube: Fable 2 pt.31 - The Howling Halls (Time: 8:34)
- Shorty after you enter the halls, check to the right for a dig spot - your dog should pick it up. Keep following the path into a large area.
- Turns out that Lilith was a Balvarine after all - you'll fight lots of Balvarines here, so use Time Control to slow them down, and chain attacks to wear them out. If you have the Raise Dead spell, use it here to summon ghostly Balvarines to fight at your side.
- TIP: When a Balvarine jumps straight up off-screen, move quickly to avoid the incoming air-dive attack.
- Keep moving towards the other end of the area, and you'll find a pit of spikes. You can use LT to view the weak pillar, which clues Hammer in to use it as a makeshift bridge - protect her while she pushes down the pillar, and fight off the Balverines using the customary Time Control, chain attacks, Raise Dead method. After the pillar has been knocked down, cross it and grab the chest on the left.
- Head down the hallway into another room with a chest. Enter the next room and head up the spiral staircase - at the top, peek into the side room to find a Silver Key. Keep moving, following the glowing trail, to find a door that leads back out to Westcliff.
VIII. Westcliff
- When you exit the Howling Halls, a little ways up the path are two "geniuses" - just walk past them and follow the glowing trail to Mad-dog.
- Speak with him - you should have a high enough Renown to enter the Crucible, but if not, check your quests and do some side quests like the Westcliff Development and Cold Comfort Farmer to earn more Renown.
- Once you have enough Renown(assuming you didn't already), talk to Mad-dog to enter the Crucible.
