The Ritual - Chapter Four
- This section of the walkthrough pertains to The Ritual part of the main quest.
- Enter the temple, and talk to the abbot to learn that he doesn't trust you - you'll need to improve your reputation a bit before he'll send you on his errand.
- To do this, you'll need to help the citizens of Oakfield, so head into town and follow the trail to Barnum, on the second floor of the tavern.
A Bridge Too Far
- YouTube: Fable 2 pt.13 - A Bridge Too Far (Time: 7:56)
- Barnum's story is that bandits have laid siege to the bridge to Rookridge, which he's recently bought. Help him out, and head to the old inn in Rookridge by following the glowing trail.
- When you get near the old inn, you'll see two bandits talking to each other. Head in their direction, moving up the steps to the old inn.
- When you arrive, the bandit leader Dash will order his men to attack. Kill them as you move up the stairway(look in the side room upstairs to find a chest), and head outside after you finish them off to hear from Dash.
- CUTSCENE: Dash tells Sparrow that he's the fastest man in Albion, and that he'll never catch him.
- Prove Dash wrong by following the glowing trail, taking out the groups of bandits along the way. Head up the stairs to fight the first group of bandits, then grab the contents of the nearby chest. The trail heads South, but if you take the path North you'll find another Silver Key.
- As you move up the railroad track there'll be an ambush to your left - take out the bandits foolish enough to attack you, and continue following the glowing trail.
- Another group of bandits await you after you come off the tracks and touch solid ground again, so take them down and follow the trail. There's a side path that leads to a chest, so take it to collect some easy gold.
- One more ambush waits for you further up the path. Kill them, and keep moving to find Dash standing on top of a platform fussing at your dog - while he's talking, shoot him or use a TS against him to kill him. Collect your experience, and check the chest behind him to find some items.
- Time to head back to Barnum, who's waiting in the tavern in Oakfield.
- Talk to Barnum to complete this quest. You get 250 Renown Points for accomplishing it, but you need more to impress the abbot. More quests should be appearing in your menu - we'll start with the first one.
- NOTE: You also receive Dash's Goggles and Barnum's Thesaurus after you talk to Barnum.
The Sculptor
- Follow the glowing trail to Susannah the sculptor. She'll ask you to hold a pose for her while she works. Any expression will do, as long as it's an extendable one - simply hold the pose until the text at the top of the screen says to release it, and release it in the green "sweet spot" to earn 100 Renown Points.
Till Death Do Us Part
- YouTube: Fable 2 pt.15 - Till Death Do Us Part (Time: 9:20) | Part 2 (Time: 3:21)
- When you accept this quest, use the Fast Travel ability to head to Rookridge.
- You'll run into several bandits here, so be ready for them. As you follow the glowing trail, you'll find a statue with a Silver Key behind it. Then, talk to Victor the ghost.
- After you accept his quest to break Alex's heart, you'll need to head to Bowerstone Market to find Alex. You can either Fast Travel, or take the long route. If you do take the long route, you'll run into even more bandits - they multiply like rabbits.
- You'll find Alex on the east end of the market district, and you can use the Art of Seduction book that Victor gave you to learn the Seduce expression, which Alex is fond of. You can also use any of your other positive expressions to woo her. Once the marker hits the ring, she'll tell you more about what happened between her and Victor.
- Now's your chance - you're given an option to give her the rejection note, or to marry her. The rejection note is for evil points - marrying her is actually for good points. Either way, return and talk to Victor to earn 100 Renown Points.
- NOTE: After you marry her, if you kill her she'll be a ghost and with Victor.
- Once you complete this quest, take a look under your "Quests/Maps" in the Pause Menu and select the next quest, "The Archaeologist".
The Archaeologist
- YouTube: Fable 2 pt.17 - The Archaeologist (Time: 8:54) | Part 2 (Time: 3:13)
- Follow the glowing trail, which will lead you to the Fairfax Gardens.
- Talk to Belle and accept the quest to find an ancient artifact, and hands you Belle's Research Note. Head to Bowerstone Old Town(you can Fast Travel there by using the "Regions" section, under your "Quests/Maps" section in the Pause Menu).
- Follow your dog - he'll lead you to the artifact, which is in a dig spot. If you look on the map, it's in the large brown area down the alleyway, near the center of the map.
- Dig up the Ancient Scroll, and either walk or Fast Travel back to Belle.
- Give Belle the Ancient Scroll to earn 75 Renown Points. Belle has multiple quests, each of them done the same way - she'll give you a Research Note, and you must locate that region; the dog will then sniff out the dig spot, and you return the artifact to Belle. You can continue doing these quests, or you can go talk to the abbot - you're now renown enough.
IV. Oakfield
- Talk to the abbot again, and you'll learn more about why he needed you to prove yourself - it turns out that his daughter is the monk you'll be escorting into the cave.
- When you finish talking with the abbot, follow the glowing trail to a nearby cave to find his daughter, Hannah. Head into the cave to begin.
IV. Wellspring Cave
- Follow the glowing trail, listening to Hannah ramble on, until you reach the central chamber. There are three switches in this room, and Hannah will stand on the one to the left to open the door. Head inside.
- As you exit through the other end of the tunnel, you'll see a glowing circle - stand in it to help Hannah fill her jug with water. When the jug reaches 100 percent, head behind the fountain to find a Silver Key, then exit back through the tunnel to the main chamber.
- When you next see the wisps, they aren't friendly - the Hollow Men appear and attack you. Defeating them is easy enough, but they're tenacious, so be ready to block as necessary. Using a Turret Rifle against them works wonders.
- Back in the main chamber again, Hannah will step on another switch, opening the right-hand door - head through the tunnel to another room. The glowing circle shows you where the switch is on the elevated platform, so stand on it.
- While Hannah is filling up the jug, wisps will float into the room and raise Hollow Men, so whip out your gun and start firing. They come one at a time at first, and eventually will come in groups of three - be sure to kill the ones closest to Hannah first.
- Once her jug reaches 100 percent again, head back through the tunnel to the main chamber and Hannah will use the final switch. The door only open a bit, and your dog will run through the gap - only to bring back a Hollow Man's head. Hollow Men will start to spawn in the room, so be quick and efficient in taking them out. Once you clear the area, the door will open completely.
- Head into the last tunnel into another room, where you'll need to stand on a switch as Hannah blesses the water. While you're standing there, a gate up above will open, and Robin the Monk comes in to tell Hannah that one of Lucien's men has taken her father hostage. She'll rush off, snatching a hammer from a statue, so follow her back to Oakfield.
