  • Buying Guide

There are four types of eyeshadows available, pressed powder, cream eyeshadow, illuminators and pencils.

Pressed powder is the most basic form of eyeshadow. It provides a matte finish and has a lot of flexibility, providing many looks depending on the application. Usually it is applied with a brush.

Cream eyeshadow is a newer form of eyeshadow. It is easier to apply and can even be applied with fingers. It has a shiny finish and easily blends into the skin. It tends to accentuate wrinkles and smears easily.

Illuminators are also a newer type of eyeshadow. This type provides a shimmery color and is nice for highlighting the corners of the eyes.

Pencils have a convenient pencil shape for application. They tend to have a shiny finish. These are easier to carry but tend to be harsh on the skin because of all the stretching done with application.
