Experian is worldwide credit reporting agency, offering business and consumer credit information. Experian was established by GUS plc, as CCN Systems through a mergier of TRW Information Systems & Services and the CCN Group, in 1996.http://www.experianplc.com/about-experian/history.aspx CCN was established in the UK by GUS, and was the leading European information services company at the time of the merger. CCN had also recently expanded internationally. Before the mergre, TRW had been operating as the largest credit bureau in the United States. In 2002, Experian acquired ConsumerInfo.com, establishing Experian’s direct to consumer credit reporting service. The company expanded into analytics with the acquisition of Scorex in 2003.
