About the Game
The game is heavily based on the Nintendo Wii launch title, Excite Truck and utilizes many of the same gameplay elements. Things like the upgraded graphics engine, damage modeling, and even some of the textures themselves are upgraded versions from the original Wii title. However, the tracks themselves are much more varied than ever before, with races taking place all over the world from the desert to the jungle and everywhere in between.IGN: Excitebots' Online Betting System (April 13, 2009)The control scheme will also be nearly identical to Excite Truck and will allow the player to steer their vehicle by titling the Wii Remote from side to side.
Tricks will be pulled off by various motion-based gestures and will provide the player's on-screen bot with advantages such as boosts or even weapons to be used against the other bots in the race.
Players will collect stars based on how well they perform in each race as well as how many unique tricks they perform. These stars can then be used to unlock additional bots to race with.IGN: Excitebots: Trick Racing Hands-On (March 20, 2009)
